3rd POV
Luffy rushed off by himself, leaving Zoro behind.
He walks through the forest singing something about islands in the south being warm and people being idiots? And north islands being chilly and more people being idiots?
Eh, who knows.
Luffy soon emerges out of the forest and comes back to the village. "Eh? Wasn't I here before?" He shrugs nonchalantly and continues on his way.
He walks through the village (somehow avoiding accidentally crushing the bones) and sighs. "Is there a restaurant? I'm hungryyyy." He whines.
He walks up a steep hill, leaving the village and once again, enters the forest. He looks down. "I want to beat up that monster Mei talked about....where is it?"
Something jumps in front of Luffy. He looks up and tilts his head. "What's a monkey doing here?"
Unlike Zoro, he forgot Mei's warning. Either that or he wasn't listening at all.
The monkey grins. It's eyes glow. (Zoro mentioned that before).
Luffy's eyes light up. "Woahhhh! Your teeth are so sharp! Cool! And your eyes are all glowy!" He blinks. "I know!" He forms a fist with his right hand and places it on his left hand. "Join my crew!"
The monkey tilts its head, confused as to why this person wasn't scared.
Luffy's eyes glint mischievously.
The monkey freezes. It slowly starts to back up.
And so the chase begins. But this time it was the monkey being chased.
"Come back here monkey! I want you to join my crew!"
The monkey runs as fast as it can, tears running down its face, basically sending a silent plea. 'Please help me! This lunatic is gonna kill meeeeee!'

A few minutes and an exhausted monkey hiding later, Luffy was staring at a two story house, momentarily forgetting the monkey he so desperately wanted to join the crew.
"Hmmmm. This place isn't in the village...I wonder why? It looks cool." His eyes sparkle. "Maybe it's haunted!"
He opens the door, causing him to cough because of the years of dust build up. When he stops coughing, he grins. "Ghosts~ Where are you~?"
Before he could take another step, however, a voice interrupts him.
"THIS MEAT IS FUCKING DELICIOUS, SANJI!"
Luffy didn't hear the full sentence. All he heard was, 'meat'. And he was all for it.
So, now the crew plus Mei are reunited for the time being.
