Sans pulled out some books and stacked them on the stationery. You could read the titles, which in particular, were magic guides. They also went negative in count instead of positive. Suddenly, the world became quiet and everything stopped moving at once.
Sans sighed and put on a serious tone, "Alphys spoke to me a while ago. She's been watching you ever since she's taken that flower from you. And because of that, she told me to give you these to protect yourself. However... these will take maybe a week to completely read and learn. Now you may be wondering... why are the books numbered down? Because these books are not in the library, but instead authored by Alphys herself. These magic books... are extremely powerful. Think of it as... an Invitation to Freedom."
...
An Invitation to Freedom...? What could that mean?
"Guess that was a bit vague, huh. By that, I mean you won't have to explore every single bit of the Underground. If you looked at books and maps, these books would help you know every place there is. Maybe you'll understand sooner. Come stop by at Snowdin, people miss you."
The world returned to motion. Soon as you blinked, Sans was gone and you quickly crammed the books into your bag. In the distance, you noticed a huge white building, so you began heading towards it, absorbing a star in the process. You noticed a boat and figure standing on it, so you curiously ventured over there.
"Hello, to Snowin or Waterfall?" It said.
You were a bit shocked but decided to speak up. "T-To Snowdin." You answered, slightly worried.
"Hop on." You walked onto the boat and the boat grew legs, taking off in the process. You didn't say a word along the way, as it only took a minute. You got off.
"Tralalala. Carry on."
You nodded and made your way into Snowdin once more. You saw a bunch of recent friends, but you kept your head down to not get noticed right away; meeting Flowey is your priority and you want to do it the quickest.
You walked into Sans' and Papyrus' house and sat down on the couch. Someone hastily walked down the stairs.
"OH IT'S YOU, HUMAN! MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME. I WILL BE OUT FOR A WHILE ON DUTY. THERE IS FOOD IN THE KITCHEN IF YOU'RE HUNGRY. GOODBYE!!" And with that, you said farewell to Papyrus as he dashed out of the house.
Now... to that book, you opened your bag and got to reading. It had tons of words on the pages. Luckily, some step-by-step image demonstrations by Alphys herself were included, so you practiced them yourself.
Sans was right. You don't know how long it took for you to finish, even though you were barely in the first book. Despite sleeping, eating, and whatnot, those needs became more... unneeded as time went by. You learned how to teleport, possess weaponry, and other things most monsters wouldn't be capable of. Not that you'll often attack. Sans even provided some spells to render basic needs more useless. Now, you were ready to travel again, and you were unstoppable. You began to travel back to Hotland and enter that building.
Upon getting closer to it, you noticed on the side there was a lock and countdown which... was infinite? On further notice, there was a sign below, "Please use the elevator as there is an experiment going on. Thank you for your understanding. - Alphys"
Wait, that must mean Flowey's in there. But why the hell is it on infinite, how would Flowey get out? Could she be covering up her failure by never coming out?
You thought of forcing your way in, but you realized it wouldn't be smart to do so. You turned around to walk away, but you then heard the door open behind you, and something pulled you into darkness, dragging you...
You caught a glimpse of Hotland for a moment, but then the door closed.
"Goddamn it, let me go!" You shouted, struggling out of their grip.
Your voice echoed throughout the dark building. Whatever was dragging you stopped and flicked on a light. A bunch of Royal Guards, including Miles, were inside, surrounding you. They were all dressed in suits, numbered, while Miles was wearing a shorter version of his cloak. You tried to escape by hitting your captor but missed.
They removed your bag and quickly tied your wrists together with glowing binds, then tossed you into the middle of the room. "Ah, look who we have here," Miles said turned around, and forced you into a chair, binding your legs to it.
"What the hell are you doing now?!" You yelled at him.
"We received a message from the head. If we can't kill you, we'll just have some fun with you." Guard 06 said, pulling out a bat. Some other guards picked up some blunt or sharp weapons. They all came closer to you, murderous intent in their eyes.
Miles lowered his knife and lifted your chin. "Now Frisk, where have you been? People care about you, don't go scaring them like that." He said, mockingly.
"I'm not telling you shit! Let me go already!" You defiantly shouted. That was a mistake. A guard whacked you. Your head slammed against the wall from the impact. What the fuck is his problem...?
You felt lightheaded.
"I'll ask you one more time, Frisk. Where were you for two whole weeks?! What were you doing?!" Miles yelled.
If you tell them about books, surely they'd try to take you out right here, right now!
"I-I'm... not telling you..." You leaned back in the chair, gritting your teeth, trying to endure the pain.
The same guard hit you again, this time aiming for your stomach.
You coughed up blood. It hurt like hell, but the pain faded away quickly due to your magic efficiency. You noticed something green and yellow in the corner of your eye. It reminded you of Flowey... "I can't give up just yet; I'm doing this for him," you thought.
"Alright boys. Let's have some fun!" Miles shouted, raising a knife.
The moment he got ready to spring into action, your aura appeared. He lowered his knife. Your aura began shining rainbow, then caused all the bindings to snap and it pushed everyone back. You pulled out your knife, preparing to fight.
"Y'know, we could've done this nicely. But you don't realize I'm not some toy to hit on... I'll take all you bastards out!" You lashed out.
"This kid's got a screw loose! Watch yourselves!" A guard said.
One by one, they started fighting you. With your knife and weapons created by your aura, you took them out and knocked them out. Miles and yourself were left, standing on the dust scattered from the attacks.
"Y/N. It would've been wiser if you were to answer my question. I told you what would happen."
"If you're not gonna kill me now... I'll just kill you!" You smirked as you charged at Miles, stabbing him where his soul would be, almost completely removing his health. He just stood there and looked down at your hand, gripping the knife.
"You're so pathetic..." You said, beginning to smile as you looked into his eyes. He put his hands on yours to remove the knife, but you did it for him. His remaining health decayed as fell limp to the ground, blood getting onto your knife and your clothing. As expected, his soul shattered and his body slowly disappeared. You noticed there was something still in the corner of your eye. You turned and saw someone.
An oddly familiar goat.
He was shyly standing there, looking at you and fidgeting with his hands. He wore a green and yellow striped sweater, which reminded you of Flowey. You attempted to speak to him, "Sorry for that, but excuse me, have we—"
He gasped and ran into a door nearby, but instinctively you managed to get in moments before it shut. You didn't realize you were just falling downstairs until eventually, you landed on your back, with your knife sliding next to you. You saw the goat approach you, but you blacked out for the third time...
