I blinked and leaned forward in shock, "What...?"
"Come now, or we will search you as we interrogate you." The officer sternly said. "Do you have a search warrant?" He fumbled with his pockets and unrolled an uncrinkled paper.
"Uh, yes, actually." He put it away.

"Shit..." I annoyedly said, staring down at the officer as I walked out. He followed behind, leaving the two of us standing across each other on the sidewalk, looking around, I noticed the road was empty and we were clear of the alleyway sight. I glared down at him.

"I apologize for introducing myself earlier. My name is Kris, part of the Snowdin Police & Residential Safety Team. First off, do you currently have a weapon or weapons on you currently?" He said. I pulled my sword handle free from my holster, dropping it with a loud echoing clank. "Just my sword." I replied, smirking.

"Okay... do you have authorization to possess this... sword?" He said.

"Of course I do. It was made by the Royal Guard not too long ago-well, before it expanded and all that." The wind began blowing heavily as I said this, noticing it began oddly lifting my sword, I quickly caught it mid-air and put it back quickly. "Whoa, we're not done here! Set it back down."

"Can't you see this wind is lifting my shit? I'm not losing it!" I replied. However, I noticed, the wind stopped soon as I took the sword. But... it's not regular wind. It's HIM. I need to get out of here. If the police get ahold of this, the safety of the surface is doomed. Maybe I should trick him.

"Oh hi, your excellency!" I cheerfully said, glancing over Kris' shoulder. He turned around quickly to greet the non-existent ruler. With this opportunity, I signaled for my crew and roundhouse kicked Kris down into a ditch and began dashing down the empty road as shouting filled the empty area. "To the waters, which shall echo with the flowers!" I shouted as an alarm blared. This had been an obvious code name used for Waterfall during moments like these. I turned back to see a good amount of my men fighting off the officers; they were holding them off well. The others were tailing me as I ducked inside the secret Waterfall opening and onto a crystal site that was drilled perfectly for my people.

Signaling goodbye and announcing my temporary leave, I jumped down into the clearing, landing on a large patch in Waterfall. Now, where was I...? I scratched my head. A star appeared in front of me, creating a scenario...

Y/N's voice began narrating within the star, exposing their past thoughts and giving me a hallucination from their point of view.

(Flashback to Chapter 6)

"I wonder... what will this experiment really do? I began walking again and picked up my bat and coming along a path that Sans was in, standing next to a telescope." The star became spinning quickly. "This star... I absorbed the star and decided, hey, I should put it in the box nearby since it apparently will return in the future." Their voice echoed. "I hope Miles is okay. I wish he would quit the Royal Guard and understand..."

(Flashback End)

I absorbed the star, causing it to disappear. Looked down, kneeled, and opened the dusty box Y/N had once used, only to find their bat and their knife. I'm so sorry that this all happened. It was my fault I decided to be like the monsters... and wanted their acceptance. I put Y/N's knife in my empty knife holster behind my back, then slung their bat on my shoulder. I need to carry on... it's my time to shine.

I began walking through the dark Waterfall and avoided combat as much as possible. However, someone familiar called out my name. "Miles?! Foxxxx~?!" I stopped and gripped my sword handle, only to struggle and see it was locked and disabled for usage. Instead, I pulled out Y/N's bat and guarded up. But no one came. The cavern's echoing water noises stopped and were replaced by the sound of footsteps from every direction. I began running towards the town of Waterfall only to be stopped by a monster.

"Hoi Fox!!!" Temmie shouted as she latched on my leg. "Hey, get the hell off!" I began kicking her free, but to no avail, her grip was pristine. Sighing, I peeled her off and sat her down. "Hello, Temmie." I mumbled, half-annoyed. "Fox! Tem need help!!!" She said. "With?"

"Village! Village need strong! Strong warrior! Village at war! Save! Help!!!" She began running off, and I instantly ran behind her. As she began coming to a halt, the smell of fire hit me heavily as I managed to pull my sword free and dash into the field. Dozens of monsters were harassing the Tems, throwing temmie flakes into bags and burning them, then demanding all of their gold and later burning their homes. I raised my sword and cast a thunder spell and shot it directly at a monster, taking him out and silencing the area. They all started looking at me.

(*By their clothes, these aren't thugs... this is crooked law enforcement. But... is-is that Archie?!)

"The fuck you doing here?!" Archie yelled. "Go away, we've been authorized to destroy this land for police reserve only."

"No. I'm here to protect and serve. The opposite of what you fuckers are doing." I remarked. The area filled with laughter momentarily, until suddenly they drew their swords. "You're outnumbered, outlaw." Archie said sarcastically. I readied the bat. Despite Arch being right, I didn't care. I KNOW I can fight on my own, especially with the power of justice implemented into my sword. However, I need to talk to Alphys for a repair...

I stood there in the middle of the village, head downward and lingering in the chaotic village and circling foes. They had been improvising a plan, as I predicted from Archie's whispers. When suddenly, the bat turned yellow, and I realized what had to be done. Lifting my head, I charged toward an enemy and quickly took one out. The area began filling with strategic commands and the cheers of Temmies as I took each of them down. With one last parry and counter, I knocked the last of them down. I felt their souls fueling up the energy for my sword. My sword had grown vampiric-life-stealing from my fighting experience. I never taught it that, but it powered up from each enemy I finished off. A sharp blow hit my back, causing me to fall and drop my bat. "You really thought this fight was over, huh?" Archie said. "We'll do this fair and square, stupid shit." He put his sword away as I crawled to my feet, garnering enough distance between us. I limped as I guarded up and prepared for any moment he'd swing. Not much I could foresee, but I was prepared for it.

And the time came.

He quickly swung at me and I weaved back, kicking him square in the stomach. I wasn't even in a proper fighting stance, I was just limping, and my arms were shaking as if I was dancing or doing some weird karate-taekwondo-inspired dance. This maneuver, however, served well. The Temmies cheered as they looked on, watching the unfair fight in the middle of their now-destroyed home. I began doing all the punching and kicking, landing the majority of the hits and swiftly dodging or weaving to not get hit. And eventually, I won, knocking Archie down.

I looked around the village and discovered that I had been in the middle of a ring of 12 monsters, including Archie. The fight had at last ended. I sighed and picked up my bat, then walked out of the village, yelling goodbye to all the Temmies and Tem herself.

Talk about having things to do...

3 Hours Later

I entered Hotland and knocked on the laboratory door. After a minute, it opened and Alphys was in the frame, looking up at me. "Hi, M-" I quickly grabbed her by her collar. "What the hell... what the hell did you do?!" She looked at me with a mixture of fear and concern. "H-Huh? I-I did nothing, I swear!" I dropped her and stormed inside the room. "Can you tell me what's the problem?! I can tell you!" A loud explosion occurred, echoing throughout the building. The two of us looked at each other and headed down.

A dark figure stood in the middle of the true laboratory.

Deltarune Kris is not the officer, just some recurring character. They'll appear further in the story, however.
