Not a single day passed, Yamini and Arohi abused her. Yamini paid the maid and said "kalse tum kaam pe nahi aaogi"
"Lekin kyun madam?" she asked.
"Zaroorat nahi hai tumhari!" Yamini said and sent her off.
Manvi glanced at her shockingly, she asked "Aapne ye kya kiya?"
"ghar mei sirf mera beta kamata hai aur faltu kharcha nahi karna hai mujhe.. Isliye aaj se tum ghar ka har ek kaam karogi.. Saaf safai bartan kapde sab kuch" Yamini declared.
"Ye galat hai.. Washing machine hai ghar mein.. Mere papa ne dahej mein di hai phir kapde haath se kyun dhoyu main?" she asked.
"Wo sab samaan Arohi ki shaadi mein diya jayega! Chalo jaake kapde do.. Deep office jaata hai Arohi college jaati hai.. Ye bhi society ke kaam karte hai" Yamini said.
"Ji.. main bhi naukri karti agar aap uss din drama nahi karti! Aap logo ki wajah se meri job chali gayi maine kabhi kuch nahi kaha" she rebukes.
Yamini holds her hand and twists it behind "aah.." Manvi screams.
"Maa nahi saas hun main.. Aur bahu ko hamesha sar jhukake saas ki baat manni chahiye aur wahi karna chahiye jo saas kehti hai.. Nahi seekhaya tumhari maa ne tumhe?" Yamini shouted.
"Aap mere maa baap beech mein mat layie.. Karti hun main" she agreed with a tear escaping down her eyes.
Yamini leaves her hand, Manvi goes to the bathroom and began to wash the clothes. Arohi enters and drops a few more pairs of clothes "jaldi dho dena bhabhi.. Dhoop chali jayegi toh sukhenge kaise?" she asked.
Manvi just sighed, they are torturing her so that she could give up and demand money from her parents. Manvi washes the clothes and takes them upstairs to the terrace. She recalls...
Ruhana was washing the clothes, and Manvi comes and helps her out. Ruhana stops her "mannu.. Nahi main kar lungi tum jaake apni padhai karo"
"Mumma.. Maine padhai karli hai aap subah se lage hue ho let me help you aur washing machine hai toh aap haath se kyun dho rahe ho?" she said..
"Beta washing machine kharab hai aur inhe 10 baar bol chuki hun thik karwado par nahi sunte hi nahi hai" she complained.
Manvi said "toh tabtak mujhe help karne do"
"Are nahi beta.. Ye sab toh baad mein tujhe karna hi hai.. Abhi apni padhai kar aur CA ban jaa" Ruhana spoke caressing her head.
"Baad mein bhi hamari beti ye sab kaam nahi karegi" Vineet replied.
"Kyun?? Apni beti ko kisi maharaja ke yahan behane waale ho?" Ruhana asked being practical.
"Nahi jahan bhi jayegi waha har zaroorat ka samaan hoga.. Aur baaki bhi kaam kyun karegi haan? Office jayegi kamayegi hamara naam roshan karegi" Vineet said.
Ruhana smiles hearing him, he comes and helps her wash the clothes. Manvi made a face "not fair.. Mujhe bhi karni hai help"
"Beta samjho... issi bahane tumhari mumma ke saath thoda time spend ho jayega" Vineet said winking at her.
"Haan isliye tum washing machine thik nahi karwa rahe ho na" she said.
He nods yes, she slaps his arm lightly and Manvi laughs. She had learned to find happiness in small things from her parents.
She came out trance of her thoughts, she dries the clothes and the neighbour watches her.
Prerna saw some marks on her arm, she felt bad and called her "beta..."
