Maudie POV

On the ride to Lucinda's bakery

I had a mix of emotions

I was excited,

in a bad way

I even forgot the word for it.

I leaned my head on Ezra's shoulder.

I'm praying nothing goes wrong today

"Are you sure your fine?" Ezra asked.

I bit my lip and shook my head.

"No, I feel like the shittiest person in the world." I said.

"Will this make it feel better?." Ezra asked.

He grabbed my chin and kissed me on the cheek.

I was astounded.

It was so random yet sweet.

"Did it help?" I asked.

"A little bit." I muttered like an imbecile.

"I'm glad." Ezra smiled.

When was he so bold?..

Ezra has changed more than I think.

"We're here." The taxi driver said.

The car slowed down and soon came to a full stop.

"That will be 6 pounds." The taxi driver said.

Ava paid him and we got out of the car.

We all stared at the building that was standing before us.

Inside that building is my father who is supposed to be dead.

"Why are we staring?" Kyle asked.

"Shush, we're trying to process everything that's happening now." Ava said.

"Let's just go in." I said.

Windchimes graced our entrance as I opened the door.

Then I immediately stopped in my tracks.

I saw him.

He was mopping the floors.

He looked so tired and miserable..

That sight made my heart hurt.

I started running towards him

He was really within my grasp.

Suddenly, I bumped into a wall of human skin and iced coffees.

I ran into one of the cute lolita waitresses and fell back.

I landed on the floor with a big thud as 3 iced coffees spilled all over me.

All eyes were on me.

I was so embarrassed but I had to act nonchalant.

Ezra, Ava and Kyle rushed over to me.

"I'm so sorry miss!" The waitress said in a panic

"No, I'm sorry I was running and I shouldn't-" I said.

Then I saw a familiar shadow approaching me

"What's going on?" Dad asked.

I jumped up and hugged him tightly.
