"THIS IS VERY GOOD FOOD!"
uzui loudly thanks mitsuri and shinobu for their efforts. everyone but hikari and obanai happily munches away.
"hikari-chan, do you have any plans for the future?" shinobu asks curiously.
"no, not really." hikari awkwardly replies.
"don't you want to get married some day?" uzui asks, a cocky grin on his face.
"um-"
muichiro kicks uzui under the table. the sound hashira sends a dirty glare to muichiro, who goes on eating nonchalantly.
"how old are you?" mitsuri asks.
"fourteen."
"ah, ripe young age." gyomei remarks. hikari trembles at the sound of his booming voice.
"so, you knew tokito before he was a demon slayer?" uzui asks. hikari nods.
"yes, we were best friends for a year." hikari explains.
"best friends?" sanemi grins "that's all?"
hikari doesn't know how to reply.
"how are the kamado's?" giyu quietly asks.
"good!" hikari says, pleased to talk about something else. "i visited them recently. nezuko-chan and i made flower crowns for everyone."
"everyone?" uzui smirks.
hikari regrets everything yet again.
"so." muichiro awkwardly says. hikari looks at his half-eaten plate of food, and she feels his leg bouncing next to hers. she listens closely, hearing his quickened heartbeat and breathing.
is he nervous? that's so unlike him.
"so." uzui smirks wickedly.
"so." obanai awkwardly adds.
the silence is horribly uncomfortable.
"how has it been, living with tokito-kun?" shinobu asks calmly.
"fine." hikari stiffly says.
"fine? nothing else?" shinobu presses. "what do you do to fill your days?"
"erm- well, we just... hang out." hikari shrugs.
muichiro's leg bounces quicker.
"does that not bore you?" sanemi scoffs. "i mean, no offense, but he isn't the most entertaining of individuals."
"i like the calm." hikari shrugs. "it's... grounding, i suppose." she nods. mitsuri looks at hikari and muichiro with an ear-to-ear smile.
"what do you do when you hang out?" shinobu asks.
"sometimes we play board games."
