We eventually arrived at a landing. Before us stood two big rocks that looked like they were kissing each other.
"Woah," I remark.
"I know, right? Skull Rock. I only know about this place I'm pretty sure." He flips his hair in a dramatic manner. It flew in every direction and was everywhere.
"It looks like two people kissing." I blatantly say. He looks at me with the most judgmental look.
"I'm sorry, what? Look at it!" He gestures. I nod.
"Not changing my answer." Eddie shakes his head pulls the walkie out of his pocket and clicked the button, a sound indicating our voices should be going through.
"Dusty Buns? Over?" Nothing. "Well, we are at Lover's Rock. We had to evacuate the cabin, Jason and his amigos came running. Also bring a first aid kit for-"
"I don't need it-"
"Yes, she does! Bye-bye now! Just get us out of here alive or I'll come back and haunt your ass." He hangs up the walkie. "That will get infected with being exposed to all of this out here."
"Yes, Dr. Obvious. I'll be fine." I roll my eyes.
"Careful Sparky, keep doing that and they'll get stuck up there." He taps on his head.
I frown as soon as I feel my stomach go hollow and grumble. "I'm starving." I hold my stomach and rub it as if it would help. I imagined a huge, juicy burger in front of me right now.
"Ah!" He held a finger up as he ran to the boat. He comes out with a granola bar. My mouth instantly drools.
"Found it in the tackle box. Drug dealers gotta have their munchies, Sparky. Here." He tosses it to me and I catch it. Who knew someone could be so selfless?
"Apparently drug dealers have everything." I mumble. "Thank you.. are you sure? You can have it. You found it." I offer it back out but he shoves it back to me.
"I insist, Sparky. You need it more than I do." I tear open the package and sit down on a small boulder. I gaze at Eddie as he kicks rocks and bends down, seeming to gather wood just in case we had to stay the night here. I sigh as I stare at it. My stomach turned from being so empty and I could feel the acid churning and coming up to my throat. But I wasn't selfish. I tear off half of it and pop the other into my mouth. My taste buds were in pure ecstasy.
I stand up and walk to Eddie who was sitting behind the rock with his eyes rested on the sky.
"Here. You need it too." I smile as I hand him the leftover half wrapped in the wrapper. He smiles and pats the rock next to him. I take his gesture to sit and he grabs the wrapper from me.
"Any cooties on here?" he holds it up raising an eyebrow. I shake my head and smile a bit. He was always funny in the worst of situations I've noticed. "You wanna know somethin'? You amaze me Sparky." His eyes are fixated on the sky. "You're so.. considerate one moment then the next you become so bad ass and blunt it stings." He holds his chest in a dramatic manner. "How does someone get to be like you, hm?" I sigh.
"Not sure. Just a whole lot of instability in my life I think. And you know how that feels. I suppose I could ask the same. You're always so.. positive and happy?"
"Optimist always beats the pessimist." He holds his finger up. "You know, Gregerson. Maybe we aren't so different? Besides one of us having red hair." He emphasizes his words looking at my knotted mess. I take it the long mess and tuck it into the back of my shirt.
"Yeah, might be a little more red towards the back now. I think they might have gave me a concussion." I hold my head. He frowns and looked down.
"I totally get you're independent and bad ass and all, but why not tell me what was your idea of a distraction? You could have gotten killed from those maniacs."
