"Mum! I'm going out to the garden to tan in the pool for a bit"

"Okay honey," Mum yelled from the kitchen.

My mum and I had just recently moved into a new neighbourhood. After what happened in my last community, it's been really hard for me to adjust to this new life. I have yet even to attempt to talk to the new neighbours, my anxiety gets to me when I try. Especially the hot neighbourhood that lives next door. I saw him outside last week, he even waved at me, but I was too scared to wave back and I took off running back into the house.

I thought today, of all day, I wouldn't have to deal with any of my social anxiety. But while I was relaxing on my floaty in the pool, I had a feeling like someone was watching me. As I spun around on my raft, I opened my eyes to see a boy sitting on top of the brick wall staring at me.

"Hi, there!" This mystery boy yelled, scaring me and causing me to roll off of my floaty. He quickly jumped over the wall to ensure I was okay, "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, pulling me up out of the water.

My mind went blank, what do I say? I'm being held by the hottest guy I've ever met. Why do I have to be so shy now?

"um, yeah yeah, I'm okay. You just startled me. I didn't know anyone was there."

He gave me a smile that just melted me in his arms and say, "I'm sorry, that's where I go when I get stressed. I didn't even realize that you were there till I looked down. My name is Harvey by the way, I live next door."

"I...I'm Jess. I'm sorry, I'm just very shy and don't like talking to new people."

"Well, you're new to this town right? Like you don't know anyone?" Harvey asked as I nodded my head. "well, think of me as your new best friend. ill show you around, we can hang out, ill slowly introduce you to some of my friends, I can take you out on a date, we can go on trips together,-"

"Hold up, did you just ask me out on a date?"

"I mean, only if you want to... it's up to you." Harvey replied in a shy tone.

Is this really happening?

"Yeah... I would love to."

What am I saying? I've never gone on a date before.

"Great ill pick you up at 6 o'clock. if I were you, I would get out of these wet clothes and get dressed in something nice. nothing too dressy but something nice." Harvey remarked, kissing my forehead and giving me a smile before jumping over the wall again.

what the hell just happened? I have never been so confused. Welp I better get dressed I guess.

As I walked into the house while drying myself off, I yelled to my mum, "Hey mum, I'm going to get dressed and go out for a bit."

"Okay, hun, who with?" She asked shocked.

"The neighbour boy, he asked me out."

"No seriously, who are you going with?" She questioned, slightly chuckling.

"wow, thanks, mum. I'm going to get dressed."

Running upstairs before she could even reply and closed my bedroom door. Hmm... what to wear, what to wear. Well, I guess I should dress the hottest I can, I haven't done that since... Nevermind. Let's just get ready.

*Time Skip*

*Knock Knock Knock*

"I got it, mum!"

As I opened the door slowly, I saw a man standing in front of me. It was him, it was Harvey.

"Are you ready to go beautiful?" Harvey asked holding out his hand, ready to take me on a new adventure.

"Yeah... yeah, I'm ready. Mum I'm leaving," shutting the door behind me. "So where are we going?"

"Well... actually my parents and siblings are out of town, and I know how shy you are. So I thought I would cook for you at my place, If that's okay with you of cause," He responded, with the biggest smile.

"That's perfect! I would really like that."

"Great! Harvey smiled, opening the front door leading me into the house and into the dining room, where two hot plates of food were sitting waiting for us. Harvey quickly ran over to the table, pulling out the chair for me, "My lady."

"Why thank you," I replied chuckling.

"wow Harvey, I'm impressed. That was really good."

"Thanks, Jess! I really put a lot of work into this meal. How about you head into the living room and ill get these dished cleaned up," Harvey replied, standing up from the table and grabbing our empty plates.

I headed into the living room, waiting for Harvey to come in. Awe look, a family photo, how precious.

"Wanna watch a movie?" Harvey asked, making me jump. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Come here, let me make it up to you. What's your favourite movie?"

"How about the Lorax?"

" I knew there was a reason I liked you. Get your butt over here<" Harvey remarked, sitting down on the couch and patting the seat next to him and putting on the movie. I quickly walked over to the couch and cuddled up with Harvey.

"You know, I really like you, Jess," Harvey said out of nowhere.

"I really like you to Harv."

"Good, because you're stuck with me now," Harvey replied, pulling me in closer and kissing my forehand."
