Many years later
Years have passed now. People have understood the effects that our actions have on Nedroj and how they might lead to our own destruction.
Some people continue saying climate change is not true, but there will always be those people who shall not share the same opinion whatever the idea or task may be. People have grown to get used to that.
We try to focus on our achievements. We were able to send various rockets to different planets and habitation there too, is now becoming a reality for people.
Planets like Thunderous and Onocentaur already have a couple astronauts living there as a trial run. Fortunately, everything has been showing positive results till now. Soon, people will be shifted to those planets as well.
Many new companies have begun quite similar to ours as well.
It seems as if saving the planet too has become a type of business. People have made it a profession and for some reason fight against each other even though we all have the same goal.
Companies are focused mainly on gaining profits and recognition for the things they are doing for the planet. Things are being based on popularity and power play. But it seems to get the job done, so I can't complain. Our motive of keeping the past from repeating itself is being fulfilled.
So many things have changed, but it still feels as if nothing much has changed at all.
With the twins in their last year of high school soon they'll become more involved in the company's affairs. Not that they aren't already.
They've decided that they want to work further for the company itself as they grow older. I've had various conversations with them stating they could be whatever they want and shouldn't feel obligated to join the company.
Unsurprisingly, both of them were adamant. Both of them have proved themselves as great assets to the company over the years. Having them officially a part of it, maybe even them running it in the future can be nothing if not beneficial.
Suddenly I receive a call. It's Aiden. He was the one communicating with the astronauts on active missions
"Hey Zy" he says.
"Hey! what's up" I ask.
His voice takes on a serious note, "I just heard back from the astronauts from Onocentaur B124. They have some news for us."
My eyes widen. "Did they tell you what about?" I ask him.
"They refused to tell me until you were here. You might want to get here right away." he says. I grab my keys. "I'm on my way. See you there" I cancel the call and get in the car. I really hope it isn't bad news.
