Chapter Fifteen
Anike’s POV
“I will be giving you this for the pain and you should not try practising tomorrow. Just rest and the pain should be reduced.”
“Thank you, ma’am.”
Jayden said before I could and the nurse smiled as she walked out leaving the both of us in the ward.
The ward itself looks so pretty for a hospital room.
It was more like the VIP room that the rich people in Korean dramas always use and I busied myself with studying it to bury my embarrassment.
Do not bother thinking too far, I gave in and Jayden brought me here. it felt more like a blur to me honestly.
Thankfully, the halls were almost empty so not many people could see us. but that is not the issue,
The issue is I have been replaying everything in my head. Right from the part I told him not to carry me.
Why did I have to talk like that?
Why did he have to be so strong that I seemed weightless? Why is my heart still beating fast?
“Are you okay?”
Jayden suddenly asked, breaking the silence in the room.
I turned to face him and found a book in his hand.
Oh, I also made him use two more hours today. I bit my lips,
“Yeah, thank you. I am fine now and we can leave. I am sorry about everything.”
I said quietly,
“It is fine, it was an accident. The nurse said you should rest though, let’s leave after fifteen minutes.”
I nodded.
Finding peace within myself that he is not angry at me.
“Do we have an assignment?”
I asked since he was busy writing something.
“No.”
“Oh, uhm thanks for carrying me here again.”
He nodded,
“you have said thank you more than twenty times now. You are welcome Anike.”
Yeah,
God, I feel like this place is suffocating.
I hate being a patient in a hospital.
I laid back down facing the wall and suddenly I was back to that hospital room. where everything started,
“How could you do this? she is your daughter but you let her get hurt! You could have just left work early TJ. Were you even at work or with one of your girlfriends!”
Mum said and that was the first time I have ever seen them argue.
My perfect family went to ruin after that night and years later I am here in a sick bed because I can’t get my emotions straight.
I sighed and slowly drifted off to sleep.

“Anike… Anike.”
I opened my eyes slowly and it took a while to get to the ward room. I sat up straight after a few seconds,
“We have to go. the hotels will soon be closed.”
I nodded,
“Wait, I thought you said fifteen minutes.”
He smiled sheepishly,
