Everyday he has been watching her, no admiring her. 17 year old Barry Allen was crushing on someone. The popular jock had found someone no one would ever suspect. A nerd, Caitlin Snow. Well everyone called her a nerd except Barry who loved how smart she was and how kind she was, everything about her just intrigued him. It's not like he could tell anyone about his secret crush on her so hoe just did nothing and eventually it went away.

When he was 25 after high school he didn't realise bit she was there at his favourite coffee shop in central city. He had never seen her before in all the times he went there but he saw her sitting alone and mustered up the courage to say hello. 

"Hey, Caitlin right?" Barry said

"Yeah, Barry Allen, class of 08" she said and he smiled happy and a little surprised that she remembered him

"Are you waiting for anyone?" he asked noticing she was sitting alone

"No, take a seat" Caitlin said and Barry took the seat across from her

"So how've you been?" Barry asked 

"I've been good" Caitlin said "I work as a bioengineer at Star Labs"

"Star Labs , you haven't by any chance met Harrison Wells?" Barry asked

"Well I work with him everyday, he's my boss" Caitlin said

"Thats amazing and incredibly cool and I can tell by the look on your face that you are shocked that I know who Harrison Wells is" Barry said

Caitlin was that good at lying so she may as well has said it as it is "can you really blame me?"

"Not really I did pretend to be pretty dumb. You know science was my favourite subject" he said

"Really?" Caitlin said in disbelief and he just took a sip of his coffee and nodded "Ok, lets test that theory, I'll just ask you some basic questions. What is the first element in the periodic table"

"Hydrogen" Barry said

"energy is..." Caitlin started

"The ability to do work" Barry said

"How many states of matter are there?" Caitlin asked

"4" Barry said

"4?" Caitlin question confused

"Solid, Liquid, Gas and Plasma" Barry said and saw the obvious look of embarrassment on her face "did I just outsmart Caitlin Snow with a basic science question?" Barry said teasing her

"Well I just thought you wouldn't know that" she said

"Ok" Barry said disbelieving her and he had a smirk on his face knowing that he outsmarted the smartest girl when he was back in school

"What do you do now?" she asked changing the conversation

"I am a CSI for the CCPD" he said

"You couldn't have told me that instead of the science quiz?" she asked and he laughed and she had a smile appear on her face when she got a call from Star Labs. "That's the labs now, I have to go" she said with an apologetic look

"Thats alright" he said 

"It was good seeing you" she said putting her purse over her shoulder

"You too" he said and was watching her walk away from the table when he said "Caitlin, I was wondering if you would like to go out on a date with me?" he just blurted it out having no idea where it came from and he couldn't be more grateful that he did.
