Beidou

"Shit, I'm late", I hurriedly put on a formal attire. It was the Angel's Share's soft opening today, and I had been invited to attend. I wondered if Ningguang was going to show up, though, I really wouldn't like to see her face right now.

Was I being petty?

Absolutely.

I appreciate her effort to try and talk to me though. I'm scared that if I gave her the chance to speak to me, she would only tell me to end whatever this was between us. It's not like I was expecting her to confess her undying love for me anyway, and it doesn't look like she's going to anytime soon.

I opened the door of the tavern, a little sound alerting that I had opened the door. Multiple heads turned around from their seats and looked at me, but I didn't care. The first thing I did upon entering was to scan the room and find Ningguang.

I found her at a table near the bar, seated with the two brothers, Diluc and Kaeya.

Fuck, she's so beautiful.

She was wearing an asymmetrical dress in all black, showing off a bit of leg and all her curves.

Diluc strode towards me, welcoming me in to his tavern, putting me out of my trance.

"Captain Beidou, I thought you couldn't make it!"

"I wouldn't miss drinking free alcohol for the world."

He led me to his table, where Ningguang would be and Kaeya who was extremely close to Ningguang.

"Please, take a seat.", Diluc said.

I nodded and took my seat next to Ningguang, she instantly avoided my gaze, looking the other way, sipping her wine.

"Captain Beidou, it's been a long time since we've since each other", Kaeya acknowledged me enthusiastically.

"Yes, it has, I didn't know that you and Lady Ningguang were acquainted"

"Ahh, we've only met today, I guess we enjoyed each other's company", Kaeya said, meanwhile, I did not.

"So, are you and Lady Ningguang close?", He asked.

"Oh we're not close, she made it pretty clear the last time.", I gave a jab at her, muttering the last part under my breath. She narrowed her eyes at me, warning me not to go any further. The tension between us was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

"We're business partners, don't mind her, she tends to joke around.", Ningguang said, giving me a pointed look.

"Ahh, well that is Captain Beidou's nature after all.", Kaeya laughed nervously, silently proceeding to sip his wine in silence.

Ningguang leaned towards me, grabbing my wrist below the table. "We need to talk.", she hissed at me. "Oh?, so now you wanna talk to me?", I looked at her incredulously. Ningguang huffed out angrily, increasingly losing patience for me.

Suddenly, Ningguang pulled me up, forcing me to stand up with her. The table looked at both of us, hand in hand. "Excuse me, but we must excuse ourselves, we have an important matter to talk about.", Ningguang smiled at them graciously and stormed out of the place, along with me before I had any say.

"What do you think you're doing?"
