My alarm woke me. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I felt like I could do with a few more hours of sleep. Memories of last night came flooding back and my eyes shot open. I wondered if Dereck was okay.
I pulled myself out of bed and walked into my bathroom to get cleaned up. After I showered I got dressed in a cute black skater dress and paired it with bright red stockings and black combat-style boots. I put on my faux-leather jacket and put my bag over my shoulder. I opened my door and saw Ronnie standing with his hand up as if he was just about to knock.
"Hey babe." he said in an almost guilty tone.
"Hey." I said as I walked up to hug him.
He hugged me back tightly and kissed my forehead.
"I'm so sorry I got drunk again." he apologized.
"You say this every time." I said as I pulled away from him.
"Babe, I know. I mean it. I'm going to stop drinking so much. I promise." Ronnie pleaded.
"Yeah, we'll see... Ronnie, I'm serious...I can't keep doing this, you really need to get your drinking under control." I said to him and he nodded.
"I promise you. I will. I don't want to lose you again." he said as he cupped my face.
He planted a kiss on my lips then took my hand and lead me out of my dorm. We crossed the campus in silence again until we got to my Biology class.
"See you in the cafeteria for lunch?" he asked and I nodded.
He kissed my cheek and walked off.
"Scar, you gave him another chance didn't you?" Evelynn asked as she hugged me from behind and I nodded.
"He's never going to change, you know that right?" she said as she let me go and walked to stand in front of me.
"He's a good guy... It's just... his drinking is a problem." I said.
"Yeah... anyway, I have to introduce you to my girl at lunch. Her name is Candice, she is so fucking adorable." Evelynn said excitedly
"She's your girl already? Damn Eve." I teased and she rolled her eyes and linked her arm with mine, dragging me into class.
We made our way over to our seats and sat down. We took our books out and the bell went. Everyone was seated and Mr Caid walked in with a tall guy in tow. I instantly recognized him as Andrew Biersack. The girls in the class started gasping and whispering to each other. Typical fan girls.
"Alright everyone settle down. This is our new transfer student, Andrew Biersack. Now while I'm sure most of you already know who he is, I urge you all to remember that Mr Biersack is a student just like each and everyone of you and he is to be treated as such. Ladies please, I understand he is like an idol to most of you but I'm going to have to remind you to reign in the crazy fan-girl vibes and let the man breathe okay?" he said causing the girls to whine despondently.
"Mr Biersack, I've placed your seat next to Miss White, she is the top student in our class, she is the most capable person to help you out if you get lost during our lesson, considering you are missing out on the work we did last year. Miss White if you could raise your hand please." Mr Caid said.
I felt all eyes on me as I raised my hand. Andrew started walking towards me, not looking at me at all. He sat down next to me and took his books out of his bag.
"Hi Andrew, I'm Scarlet." I said as I held my hand out towards him. He turned to look at me, his icy-blue eyes staring directly into mine.
He truly was attractive, his face literally looked chiseled to perfection. He took my hand and gently shook it, my hand practically disappearing in his large one.
"Please, It's Andy. Not Andrew." he said before letting go of my hand.
"Sorry..." I said as a blush crept onto my face.
I turned to look away from him, hoping to hide my embarrassment.
"It's okay." he finally added in a low voice.
Mr Caid started his lesson, we were taught about the blood vessels in the neck. I noticed out the corner of my eye that during the lesson Andy glanced over at me multiple times. Nothing was said in class about Dereck's absenteeism.
The bell went and Mr Caid dismissed the class. As I was packing up my books I noticed Andy pulled out his timetable.
"We have Advanced English next. You sit next to me there too. Would you like me to walk with you to class?" I asked him and he looked at me as if he was processing what I had asked him.
"Uhh... sure, if it's not too much trouble." he replied as he slung his bag strap over his shoulder.
"It's no trouble at all." I said as I stood.
He stood as well. He towered over me. He must've been about 6'3" compared to my 5'4". He wore a tight-fitting black hoodie with black skinny jeans and black combat boots.
"After you." he said as he gestured for me to walk first.
"See you at lunch Scar." Evelynn called after me and I turned to wave back at her.
As we walked to our next class, we were met with the gaze of almost everyone we walked past. Once we were clear from student traffic we walked across the empty field to the building.
"What brings you to Kinsley Academy, if you don't mind me asking?" I asked him, breaking the awkward silence.
"My parents. I didn't complete high school when I started my music career. I did my GED recently, scored better than I expected, so my parents enrolled me here. The band is taking a bit of a break before we start with the new album." he said.
"But you enrolled into second year. I'm just wondering why you'd do that." I said cautiously.
"Well... I'm 21, there was no way I was going to sit in class alongside 17 and 18-year-olds. The academy said I could enter 2nd year, if I caught up on the work I missed in first year." he said as he grinned.
He has a beautiful smile.
"Do you have a tutor?" I asked him and he shook his head.
"I have all the material, I just need to work through it and write the first year's final exam." he said as he ran his hand through his jet-black hair.
"I could always tutor you, if you want help working through it." I offered.
"Why would you burden yourself with such a task?" he asked as he looked at me.
"It's not a burden at all. I don't do any extra-curriculars, I have a lot of free time." I said, smiling at him.
"You'd waste your free time tutoring me?" he asked seeming surprised.
"I wouldn't call tutoring a waste of time, plus I'd be able to recap the work for myself as well." I said.
"As if you need that Miss 'top of the class'" he said chuckling lightly.
"As Mr Caid said, I'm the most capable person in our class to help you." I retorted matter-of-factly.
"Fine, if you insist. Quite frankly I'd be an idiot if I didn't accept help from the smartest girl in the class." he said as he flashed me another smile.
"So you want me to tutor you then?" I asked facetiously.
"Yes... If you really don't mind." he said.
"I really don't mind Andy." I said and he smiled again.
