I lay naked on my bed in Zion's arms. He was spooning me with an arm under my head and the other hugging my waist. I could feel his still hard dick between my thighs.

"Zion... can I ask you something?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence that fell between us after we had cleaned up and returned to the bed.

"Sure." he said calmly.

"So Ronnie's mother is having her birthday party tomorrow, you've been extended an invite as my plus one. Would you like to go?" I said cautiously.

"I'm assuming Andrew knows I'm here?" he said and I stiffened.

"I'll take your reaction as a yes. Is that why he hit you?" he pressed on.

"He hit me because I said something stupid regarding you. I taunted him because he threatened the lives of my friends because I allowed you to feed off me." I explained and he sighed deeply.

"That's no reason to hit you though?" he questioned confused.

"I called him petty and taunted him for being mad that his daddy played with his toy." I explained and he chuckled.

"Well... that was stupid. I guess I kind of understand why he hit you then. If it were me, I wouldn't let a remark like that slide." he chuckled.

"You would've hit me too?" I asked.

"No, I'd never hit you. I'd bend you over and put you in your place." he said as he rocked his hips against me, causing his dick to rub my pussy.

"I can't go again Zion." I whined and he chuckled against.

"You'd be able to if you'd let me heal you down there." he said firmly.

"Okay then I'll rephrase... I don't want to go again." I said as I snuggled back against his chest.

"Fine, I'll respect that and I'll go with to this party. What is the dress code?" he asked.

"Formal, think stupid rich, over-the-top gala-style party." I said and he laughed.

"So a tux?" he asked and I nodded.

"I've got a red dress that you'd look amazing in." he said as he hugged me tighter.

"Do I want to know who it belonged to?" I asked and he sighed.

"She never got to wear it." he said and I could detect sadness in his voice.

"Who is she?" I asked.

"She was my wife." he said sadly.

I turned around to face him.

"Was?" I asked and he nodded with glistening eyes.

"What happened to her?" I asked cautiously.

"She was killed by hunters. She looked a lot like you actually. Your fiery personality reminds me of her too." he said as he brushed his fingers along my cheek.

"I'm sorry for your loss Zion, she must've meant a lot to you." I said and he nodded as a single tear slipped out the corner of his eye.

"She meant the world to me. I was so lost, for a long time, that is until I saw you. I feel like I have a new purpose and while I'm not entirely sure what it is yet, but I know it involves you." he said as he kissed my forehead.

I hugged him and fell asleep in his arms.

I woke at the sound of my phone ringing. In my sleepy state, I answered it without checking who was calling.

"Hello?" I said sleepily.

"Scarlet. You're still in bed?" I heard my dad voice ask through the phone.

"Dad?" I asked suddenly very awake.

"Yes...? Listen, what is it I hear you're skipping classes?" he asked sternly.

"Uhhh, I was sick." I lied.

"You didn't think to inform your professors or school? This doesn't sound like you? What's going on with you? Is it that Ronnie chap?" he interrogated.

"No dad, I'm sorry, I was just really out of it." I lied and he hummed in a disbelieving tone.

"I want you home next week. I've already informed the school." he said.

"Dad, no, I can't." I said.

"It's not up for discussion. Spencer will be at your dorm at seven AM on Sunday to pick you up." he said, leaving no room to argue.

"Okay dad." I said before putting down.

"Is there a reason why you don't want to go home?" Zion asked me as he pulled me back down again.

"I'm probably going to receive a lecture from hell about how I'm embarrassing him and the White family name by slacking." I said annoyed.

"White? As in the daughter of Harvey White? CEO of White Industries?" He asked and I nodded.

"The one and only." I said sarcastically.

"Ah shit." he said.

"What?" I asked.

"Do you know what your father does for a living?" he asked me.

"He owns the biggest weapon company in the world." I stated.

"So you don't know then?" he asked cautiously.

"I just told you." I said dumbfounded.

"Well yes, the latter is true. But he is the head of the biggest hunter organization in the world. Him and his goons are responsible for the death of my wife." he said and I sat up in shock.

"You must be mistaken... My father... he-"

"He is the one of the most skilled hunters out there." he stated, cutting me off.

"Zion... My father... he can't be." I said in disbelief.

"He is. He became one of the most feared hunters after demons killed your mother." he explained.

"No, my mother died in a car crash." I corrected him.

"Is that what he told you? You poor child." he said as he sat up to hug me.

This can't be true. My mother... murdered by demons. He lied to me? It makes no sense...

"I can only guess he told you the latter as to not expose you to the supernatural world. I wonder how he'd feel to learn you've been bedding his enemy." he said and I pulled away.

"You're not going to hurt him are you?" I asked him.

"Oh fuck no. I may be powerful, but I'm not stupid nor suicidal. His weapons are lethal to us and he is skilled with them. I wouldn't be crazy enough to step under his radar and expose myself." he said with a smile.

"Does Andy know?" I asked and he nodded.

"Oh... he didn't tell me." I said.

"He probably didn't want to complicate things between you two." he stated.

"Does it complicate things between us?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Hardly, if anything... It makes things more exciting." he said.
