2 moons have passed since Tornpaw went to the mothermouth to become a medicine cat apprentice. For an apprentice he's learning well, however, is sometimes forgetful of the correct treatments.

"Tornpaw! Remember, Borage is for nursing queens, fevers, tummy aces and tight chests," lectured Freckledwish exasperated at his forgetfulness.
Freckledwish was currently holding the blue flowers in her mouth, and decided to hold a mini quiz,
"Now yarrow is the one you never hold in your mouth, do you know why?"
"Because it's used to make people vomit because of the taste," Tornpaw mewed as he sorted the herbs by taking out some of the damaged leaves. Steelmask walked in with a thorn in his left front footpad.
Freckledwish seeing that it was Steelmask took the opportunity to teach Tornpaw how to do it as she trusted Steelmask to speak up if something was wrong with Tornpaw's methods, as although he was not a medical cat he had been present for several procedures when he was keeping Freckledwish company after the death of Maplestripe,
"Okay, Tornpaw I'll let you deal with Steelmask injury."
Freckledwish took over the sorting herbs as Tornpaw went over to the now sitting Steelmask.
Tornpaw mewed at Steelmask, "Lift your paw please."
Steelmask nodded and lifted his paw. Tornpaw inspected the injury before holding his paw in place and carefully removing the thorn from his pad. He then grabbed some dock leaves and chewed it up and poured it in the hole the thorn had left. He grabbed some cobwebs and placed it on the pad.
"Make sure you keep off it for a while till it fully heals" Tornpaw instructed.
Steelmask nodded and thanked him before walking out.
