15. Truth

We waited for about two three hours for him and it's already evening now, we have eaten my lunch which Mason brought for me. Mason was mostly busy on phone and talking to some other people. I was alone in the room so I took a peaceful nap which didn't last long as Aaron came and woke me up. Now we are sitting in his car off to somewhere else.

"Please I want to sleep, I am tired" I pleaded and he sighed.

"You haven't done anything apart from sitting idly" he said and I gave him a pointed look

"And who orders me around back in the studio" I said frustrated at him, I still don't forget how humiliated I felt back there.

"You are just lazy" he scoffed and I glared at him.

"You are just mean" I retort back.

"We have to meet our music producer Mr Smith then we will go back home" Mason told me and I nod. It's not like I have another choice. Our car stopped at the red signal and I looked out when my eyes fell on the man sitting in the car next to us, my blood turned cold at his sight. It's,...it's Rachel's husband.. I am sure I am shivering at this point, he hasn't seen me but the sight of him took me back to that day when he tried to... I felt a hand on my arms.

"Hey what happened?? Why are you shaking?" Aaron asked with concern and Mason was also looking at me worriedly.

"No-Nothing I.." I felt a tear fell down my cheek.

"Alzena what happened, lioness?" He asked softly wiping the tear from my eye.

"Please can we go back to the mansion" I croaked out, my voice breaking.

"Mason let's go back home" he said to Mason and we drove in the direction of home. I was looking at my hands that were still shaking in my lap. He clutched my hand in his and start caressing them softly.

"Do you want to share?" He asked me. I contemplated for a second whether to tell him or not and I thought better to tell him, I want to get it out of my heart so I won't thing about it anymore. I want someone to know what happened to me.

"Do you remember when you found me on the road, when I was about to hit by your car?" I said and he nods turning his whole attention towards me.

"I was living with Rachel at her house, I met her in a park when she came there with her son Noah, she offered me to stay with her and I accepted her offer as I didn't have any place to live" I paused.

"It was good living with them for few days but one day I met her husband, I didn't like him at first sight. Later that day I went to find a job but came back empty handed. When I came back he was alone at the house and he .. he tried to force him- himself on m-me but thankfully I escaped safely from there and then I met you" I started crying after telling him. He pulled me in his arms rubbing my back softly. He whispered sweet Nothings to me.

"And I saw him back there at the signal, I couldn't..." I broke once again.

"Sshhh it's okay love, you are safe now. Don't cry" he cooed and I felt better after sometime, I moved away from him when I saw how close we are, he let me go easily.

"Where does he live?" He asked firmly.

"Why?" I asked with a frown, why does he want to know about that.

"Tell me.. please" he said and I told him his address.

"I don't want to trouble them, Rachel was very good to me I don't want her to know what her husband did to me, she would be heart broken" I told him and he sighed.

"We will see to it later" he said and I saw we were in the driveway of mansion.

"Let's go inside" he said and we went inside.

"You are free for rest of the day, you can take rest if you want" he said softly and I melted at the sight. He is a good guy, I smiled at him. I gave him a small hug and thanked him.

"Thank you" I said and went upstairs not having any power to face anyone else right now. I need to be alone for sometime to gather my thoughts. I have never faced any situation like that and I thought I forgot about that incident but I was so wrong. It was at the back of my mind all this time and I broke down today in front of Mason, Aaron and his driver. Now I feel a little embarrassed!

Rest of the day spend with me lying down on the bed, not sleeping a bit. I am still not feeling good, it was a bad day a very very bad day. On top of that I am missing max, Grandpa, uncle, Stefanie, Carlos and everyone else. It's only two weeks in city and I am already tired of it.

A firm knock brought me out of my reverie.

"Yes" I sat up on my bed. Aaron came inside with dinner.

"I brought you food" he said placing the tray infront of me.

"I am not hungry" I told him.

"Too bad you still have to eat it" he told me and I start eating not having the energy to argue. I took few bites and then left it.

"I am done" I said. I know he wanted Me to finish the food but he didn't said anything which made me sigh in relief.

"You know I always loved city life, I always wanted to come here. It has always attracted me but being here is not good. I thought that I will feel good but this is not what I wanted or what I thought of city" I told him truthfully.

"You can stay at home, you don't have to come with me anywhere. You don't have to do anything for me. I am sorry I was being too harsh all this time with you. You can stay here freely" he told me with a blank face and I looked at him stunned.

"Really?" I said and he nod with a barely visible smile.

"I don't have to wakeup early?" I asked which made him chuckle.

"No" he said and I smiled happily at him.

"Thank you" I told him. He nods and then stood up taking the tray with him.

"Good night, sleep tight" he said and went out of the room, I looked at the place where he was sitting. Am I dreaming? Was it really him?
