27. Past

Next day when we were all sitting on the breakfast table I was gazing at Aaron. What is he to me? Why do I feel so special when he do something for me? Why do I care for him more than I care for others?

"Are you okay?" He asked me when I wasn't eating and only gazing at him.

"Yes I am fine, I an just not hungry" I said and stood up. I went out of the dining room and went to the backyard to spend some time in the garden.

I spend 2 hours in the garden taking care of the flowers. I sighed when I was done with my work. I looked around at the beautiful garden but not beautiful than mine. In few days all new flowers will bloom and this garden will look more beautiful.

"I heard that you planted new flowers here" a voice came from behind me. I looked back to see Rachel standing and gazing at my garden with contentment.

"Do you like it?" I asked her

"I love it" she smiled.

"It reminds me of some place very dear to me" she gazed longing in space.

"Which place?" I am being nosy but she answered anyways.

"A place where I used to live with my husband" she told me.

"Oh where is he now? I mean.. I am sorry I don't want to be nosy" I apologized.

"It's okay, he left me when I needed him the most" she told me and I looked at her. How can some one leave someone so beautiful like her. He must be crazy to let go of her.

"So he is a bad guy" I showed my distaste to which she chuckled.

"No he is not, he is a very good guy. You may know him" she said looking at me now.

"I know him?" I asked confused.

"Richard Ford" she said and I was confused for a moment to whom she is referring to then it hits.

"You mean Richard as in Richard Ford, Carlos dad" I asked in shock. They have the same last name, how didn't I realized it sooner. And the tension between Carlos and Aaron. Oh God! My head is spinning.

"How? What.." I was short of words.

"You left Carlos alone and even Richard, I have seen them missing you too many times. You know how hurt Carlos was when you left him. He always remembered you and would always talk about you that how beautiful are you and how kind are you.." I told her my tone was accusing.

"Carlos talked about me?" She asked with hope and I only nod. I have always disliked mother because she leave both Carlos and Richard. I know for sure that Richard still loves her.

"You left them" I accused her and she looked down for a moment when she saw my tone changed.

"No I didn't wanted to" she said.

"But you did" I said.

"I didn't want to live there Alzena, I was always a city girl. I know that town is beautiful and all but I couldn't spend my whole life there. I had dreams and they could only be fulfilled here. You of all know people should understand that. Because you are here for the same reason" she said and I looked at her a little hurt at her words. But she is right i done the same thing, I also left my family back there. How can I judge her when I did the same. Today I realized what I did was so wrong.

"You left your little child there" I whispered, in some way what she did was a little bad. She left her son back.

"Because I didn't want Richard to be alone and Carlos was also very attached with his father. I couldn't do that to him" she said defeated.
