we didn't have much money growing up, they were days that we had to go to school and  have nothing to eat. We had to walk to school sometime feeling hungry, my dad used to work as a fisherman someday the catch would be good and someday he would catch nothing, it was hard we didn't get to see our dad much cause he would always be working to get the bills paid and trying to get food on the table.

Sometimes we didn't have  food to eat for dinner, my dad would go out on those nights when we didn't have any thing to eat at my aunt place to get mango from under her trees so we could have dinner to eat.

Your probably wondering, you live so close to your aunt why not just ask her for food, my mom didn't have a good relationship with my father's family cause they didn't like her, she and my dad got together when she had two kids so Maybe that's one of the reasons that they didn't like her.

Thinking back to those days and just remembering how crazy and unfair everyone was being to my mom, it really does hurt. I remember once my  aunt asked "have you guys already eaten" and we being kids didn't though it was a big deal, we were hungry so we took the food and eat it joyfully.

A few days later I heard my mom and dad talking, my dad said "I just came back from my mom house, apparently the kids was  there begging food and  they are saying that I don't give food to my kids, and you know how much I try my best to put food on this table so my kids shouldn't be down there looking for food" he said  angrily.

My mom got pretty angry that day because she did gave us food but we were still hungry so we didn't though it was wrong to accept the food, my mom did felt bad because she wanted her in law to like her but they didn't.

Ever since that day whenever we were asked if we had anything to eat already, we always said yes even though we were hungry,  my mom started working cause my dad wasn't gaining a lot of money.

I guess that's one of the reasons I stated working when I was in 5th grade so I could buy my own stuff and not asked for money from my parents.

Every time we asked for money it's always, you know we don't have.

And I know it hurts to say that to your kids.

Love you mom and dad.
