*2 Months Later*
Everything from then on was a blur of colors and sounds, sirens and cries.
All I could remember was someone calling an ambulance and screaming at me to get up and off of Shawn.
I couldn't though, this was my fault. This was all my fault.
I knew that something had happened to Rowan, whether it was being ripped apart or put in jail I wasn't sure.
I had a vague memory of screaming, piercing wails that echoed around my brain as I attempted to claw his eyes out. Nobody was allowed to hurt Shawn, and Rowan did.
He hurt my Shawn.
I think it was Cameron who pulled me off, shouting at me to stop and to let them handle it, whoever they were. I didn't care, all I could feel was the breathlessness, and the stinging sensation in my chest that refused to go away.
That's all I've felt for the past 2 months that he's been here, that I've been here waiting for him to wake up.
"He's in a coma. When he was shot he lost too much blood and hit his head on the kitchen counter when he fell. He has damaged his brain, he might wake up not remembering anything, and he might not wake up at all. I'm very sorry," were the doctor's words to me.
I had been numb for so long, the only thing I could feel was Shawn's hand in mine every day that I stayed in the hospital. I had barely left, and I only ate and showered when I was forced to, I wouldn't even sleep.
Right now I was in his room, sitting next to his bed like every other day, talking to him in hopes that he would hear me and wake up. He never did, but all I could do was hope.
"Hey Shawn," I sniffled, "its been really rough here these past months. Everybody misses you, I miss you. We're all messes without you. We need you back."
I talked for a bit longer, saying anything that came to my mind.
"Emiko, you need to eat," Meredith said as she walked in.
She was probably my favorite nurse. She always let me talk to him a little bit after visiting hours and hold his hand, and she always brought me food.
I hadn't really been all that hungry lately, but I knew I had to eat to be able to function, and I had to be there when he woke up.
I wanted to be the first face he'd see.
"Okay," I answered softly, taking the yogurt from her, allowing her to set the string cheese and water bottle on Shawn's bedside table, probably knowing I wouldn't eat it.
I had gotten significantly skinnier while I had been here, waiting for something to improve. It was probably because I never really wanted to eat, usually someone had to force me. I just didn't want to miss anything, and I didn't want him to miss anything.
Cameron and Nash were both a mess. They always looked worn out and tired, but they still tried to get me to perk up a little, and I appreciated them for that.
Laya, Hope, Natalis, Maribeth, and Melissa weren't as bad. They were all upset and worried, but they tried to make sure everyone else was okay, rather than themselves.
The rest of the boys were in a similar condition as Cam and Nash, tired and grouchy every day, constantly worried about what would happen.
I had also met Shawn's parents, and his little sister Aaliyah. They were a beautiful family, and they were much like me except they knew they had to sleep. They were at a hotel close by, their numbers in my phone just in case anything happened. They obviously knew about Shawn being a werewolf, Shawn's dad was also one. He was pretty confused about why he hadn't healed and woken up yet, as was I.
The fans were probably in the worst state, other than me and Shawn's family of course. They had done a press conference to explain what had happened, and also cancelled every magcon event, stating they would continue the tour when Shawn was back to his full health. They weren't even on the tour, but their first event was supposed to be last month. Obviously nobody could handle that.
Most of the time when I was in here, the nurses wouldn't let me get that close to him. I just wanted to kiss him, just once. Meredith had already left after taking his vitals, so I looked around.
I stood up, walking closer to him. Wires were everywhere, and a bandage was wrapped firmly around his head and chest, where he was shot.
I swiped some brown hairs out of his face, leaning closer to him. But right when I placed my lips on his, the heart monitor started going off, beeping loudly.
He shot up, but I didn't receive the gracious greeting I had wanted to. His claws raked across my face, blood gushing out of them as his eyes flew open, looking at me with a mass of fear and confusion on his face.
Despite the immense pain in my face, I smiled. I was so happy he was awake, and nothing but extreme joy filled me until he spoke words that I'd never wanted to hear, never wanted to believe.
"Who are you?"
