I woke up on my couch, my neck aching right when I stood up.

I walked over to the mirror that was hanging on my wall and winced when I touched the two small puncture marks on my neck.

"Babe?" Shawn said, walking over to me from his spot on a chair beside the couch.

"Hey," I said, kissing his jaw.

"How are you feeling?" he asked worriedly, about to go all protective mate on me.

"I'm good, my neck still hurts though," I said and he wrapped his arms around my waist, looking into the mirror with me.

"I bet. Cayla has been freaking out and wants to see you, but I refuse to let that happen," he said and I couldn't help but to agree.

I didn't want her anywhere near me right now. Having the blood sucked out of you is not a pleasant experience.

"I don't want to see her for a while," I said to him.

"I'm glad you don't, because now I won't have to force you to stay away from her," he smiled and I rolled my eyes, a closed-lipped smile appearing on my face because of his protectiveness.

"I feel so bad though," I said, remembering why she was this way; because of me.

"Why? Jeremy wasn't your fault," he said, trying to make me feel better.

"Well if I wouldn't have gone to the bathroom then it wouldn't have even happened," I said, beginning to feel even worse.

"Your bladder isn't your fault either," he said, trying to lighten up the mood.

When I had first discovered that Shawn and I were mates, he had told me all about them, and how their connection would effect them. It turns out that pain, sadness, love, and desire are the strongest emotions that are tethered to your mate; meaning that if they feel that way, then you will be able to pick up on it and feel it too.

I felt really bad that I had dragged Shawn through all of this, considering we had nearly just met and I had forced him to move countries for me, and even before that at the hotel I put him through pain, plus smashing into the trophy case and being bitten by Brooklyn. I had just given him the worst experience with me, ever, and I want to change that.

I smiled and laughed softly, hugging him.

"Thank you," I said softly, nuzzling my head into his chest due to our height difference.

"For what?" He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Putting up with me, loving me, not freaking out on me and being patient with me, you know, just everything. Nothing you have ever done for me has been negative, and I want you to know that I love you and I am so grateful for you," I ended my speech and he grinned at me.

"You don't have to thank me. I love you, and I'm always going to be here for you even if you don't want me here, which hopefully won't ever happen. It's been so fun watching us grow closer, as well as everyone else. They all met their mates because of you and I appreciate you so much," he said and kissed me and I smiled brightly, immediately responding.

"Emiko!!" I heard multiple voices yell, tackling me.

I groaned, feeling my head start to throb again due to blood loss from Cayla.

"Get off her you're hurting her!" Shawn growled loudly, pulling everyone off of me.

Nash, Cam, Jack, Jack, Aaron, Carter, Matt, Jake, Jacob, Taylor, Mari, Mel, and Laya attacked me.

"We missed yooouuuu!!" Nash said, hugging my waist.

"Yeah! We need you so you can epically smash into more trophy cases like you do!" Cam said, giving me a bear hug while Shawn just watched and glared.

"Okay, that hurt, so no. But I missed all of you guys too," I smiled, hugging them.

"You left me with them! Them!" Mari yelled, jabbing her thumb back to all the boys and Lay and Mel, who were now having an argument about whether they should feed me to a lion or not.

"Well I mean, Em is my best friend, and yeah I mean it'd be kinda cool but I'd really miss her, ya know?" Cam said, wrapping his arm around me.

"Uh....thanks..?" I said unsurely, giving them a really weird look.

Matt and Carter were basically killing me with their eyes, and it made me pretty uncomfortable.

"What?" I asked defensively, looking at them.

"It's all your fault she got hurt," Carter said harshly and I glared at him.

"No it wasn't," I snapped back, about to throw down.

"If Jeremy wasn't so in love with you, none of this would've happened!" Matt said, raising his voice.

"Stop!" I heard a voice yell that made my blood freeze.

"It wasn't her fault," Cayla said, walking out of the hallway.

She scared me now more than ever.
