"Mazey is really nice, I don't know what you were so worried about," Shawn told me, walking with me through the school with our hands intertwined.

I stepped away from him and crosses my arms, ripping my hand out of his.

"What?" I asked rudely, knowing what she had done in the past.

"I don't understand why you hate her. She's really nice, she even apologized for kissing me, I don't know why," he said carelessly and I scoffed.

"What do you mean you don't know why?" I asked, testing him.

"She's hot, I don't know if you've noticed," he said rudely, and my whole body just kind of shut down.

Tears filled my eyes and I bolted out of the school, running all the way home.

When I got home I was extremely out of breath, my feet were bleeding and torn up because I kicked off my flip flops while I was running, and my face was probably extremely pale because I have asthma.

I trudged inside and saw Melissa, Mari, and Laya crying on the couch, and I was briefly confused. Did the same thing happen to them?

"What happened to you guys?" I asked, confused.

"Cam is a jerk," Lauren sniffed.

"Nash told me that he could do better than me, and well I know that," Ash cried.

"Jack kissed Kelley! Made out with her!" Stormi yelled, looking more outraged than upset.

"Yeah, Shawn told me Mazey was hotter than me..." I said, my situation not seeming as bad now that they've been through the same thing.

"I think that you should run away," Cayla said, scaring me.

"WHEN DID YOU GET THERE?!?" I yelled, clutching my rapidly-beating heart and looking back at her.

"Heh, like two minutes ago, I wanted to scare you. Well, back to what I was saying. You guys should run away, show them what they're missing out on," she suggested, and quite frankly it sounded like a good idea at the time.

"Where would we go?" Melissa asked, looking unsure.

"I'll take care of it, just pack some clothes, food, and when you're ready let me know. We have a long journey ahead of us," she said, walking into the kitchen.

"Does anybody else think this sounds slightly suspicious?" Maribeth said, looking at all of us.

"No, maybe she just actually wants to help us," Laya said, not really seeming to care at all either way.

We all shrugged and packed clothes, and when I looked up I almost cried.

There was a picture of Shawn and I kissing on my mirror.

I held back the tears and threw clothes and shoes into my bag as fast as possible, trying my hardest to avoid all of Shawn's things that were in my room, but when I saw his jacket, I couldn't resist.

I took his jacket, promising myself that it was for warmth and warmth only, but I knew it was much more than that.

I took one last look, and left the room.

"I'm ready," I said, walking out with Shawn's huge jacket draped over my shoulders.

Everyone was looking at me, so I shook off their stares and changed the look of uncertainty on my face to a look of confidence.

"Let's do this."
