Chapter 22:

Amy's POV:

"I can't believe you did that," I giggled, hitting Liam in the arm.

"Just for you," he replied, poking me on the nose.

I chuckled as we continued walking through the hotel, a trail of water left behind us from our drenched clothes.

Eventually, we made it up to our penthouse, giggling and laughing. I couldn't help but stare into Liam's eyes on the way up, his straight hair now turning a bit curlier.

"What's with the curly hair?" I asked, twirling one of the tendrils with my finger.

Liam blushed before responding, "I might straighten it..."

I laughed at his response. He gave me an embarrassed look, like he was ashamed of it.

"Well, I think that's adorable," I replied, taking a step closer to him.

"Oh really?" He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I nodded my head in response, my eyes traveling up to his hair. I liked it curly, it was hot. It showed a bad-boy side of Liam that I have never witnessed before, and I was one of his best friends.

Liam smirked, pulling me closer. I felt my heartbeat quicken as our chests touched through our wet clothing, his warm breath tickling my cheeks. I wanted to crash my lips into Liam's soft ones, but I knew that was wrong. I knew I couldn't.

"Race you to the kitchen!" I yelped, unhooking myself from Liam's grasp, and pulling the door open.

I heard Liam grunt behind me, footsteps soon pounding after mine. We both ran to the kitchen, head to head.

Eventually, Liam got tired, and I won. I couldn't believe how big the whole penthouse was. It was at least as big as the lower level of my home in England, which was pretty large.

I ran to the fridge, and rummaged through it, taking out anything I could grab. The plane ride had left me famished, and I needed food now.

Everyone else soon came to join us, small talk erupting through us. Niall had his arms wrapped around Charlotte, constantly kissing her cheek. I was so happy for them, but inside, inside I knew I wanted the same for me. I wanted Liam to always do that to me; to be by my side.

But yet, there was something dividing us. Something always wedged itself between us, I just didn't know what.

Finally, we all changed into dry clothes, and were all sat comfortably in the couches located in the den. We were simply switching through channels, as they were all in Spanish and no one could understand what they were saying.

I looked down at my watch, and noticed it was already past nine o'clock. I scanned over everyone else around me, and frowned as I noticed how fatigued everyone seemed to be.

I guess we were all extremely tired, jet lag getting the best of us.

"I don't know about you," Taylor yawned, getting up from Harry's lap, "But I'm going to bed... Night."

I smiled to myself, seeing as she just practically read my mind. Taylor slowly moped out of the den, her long brown hair swishing back and forth as she walked forward.

"Wait!" Harry yelped, jumping out of his seat. I smiled as he ran over to Taylor, grabbing her hand gently, "I'll help you."

I giggled as he said this, cheekily grinning at Liam beside me. I soon fell quiet as Harry's eyes shot like daggers into my skin, the wrinkles on his forehead now becoming visible.
