It was time for the final scene. The Engagement party, then Nini's solo, and finally, Break This Down. Everyone was dressed in their final outfits. "Okay, children" Miss Jenn calls. "This is the final scene of the production. I don't care what happens, I want you to go out there and be the shining stars you were all meant to be. If you weren't for you kids, I don't know where I'd be. I was so glad I was able to teach you all."
"What Lake?" Ricky shouts.
"SHALLOW LAKE!"
The stage was set for the final scene, looking like Auradon's Bridge Plaza, a magnificent tree-lined court with 4 decks connected by blue carpet-lined stairs.
Nini was the picture of grace in a metallic-orchid dress, elbow-length lilac gloves, gold peep-toe heels, and a gold tiara with purple and blue tones. Ricky looked dashing in a sharp three-piece blue suit sans tie.
"There they are" Kourtney announces, who gave off an air of sophistication in a structured midnight-blue gown of her own design. She looks at Howie, who stands by her side in a mint-green suit and blue shirt.
Jessie, dressed to the nines in a black-and-moss polka-dot frock, stands next to Kaden, who wears a blue-and-white-striped tailcoat. Harper looks like a princess in a beaded pink off-the-shoulder dress and her demure bluebird necklace.
Nini and Ricky take center stage at the stair props. "Lady Mal and I want to thank you for celebrating our engagement with us today," Ricky tells the crowd. "I couldn't be prouder or happier to call you my queen. So raise your glasses to our future queen of Auradon!"
Everyone raises their glasses high in the air. "To our queen of Auradon."
"Speech, your Specialness" Big Red shouts, all dressed up in a black-and-white paisley jacket and skinny-cute black pants. Smitten, Ashlyn stands by his side in a cornflower lack midi-dress.
"Speech, oh fancy one!" EJ laughs. The gold embroidery on his sports coat, reflected the glow of the twinkle lights.
Nini looks down. Mr. Mazzara presses a button and the lights down go dim. The spotlight shines on Nini as the music plays. It was time for the original song Ashlyn wrote. The song reflects how Mal used to see herself through her mom's eyes, but now it's time for what she wants to be.
