TW jason and violence and slurs and such

Eddie gets deja vu as he walks up the familiar street. Despite it being very, very early in the morning, the sun begins to burn down on Eddie. He is sweating, even in his downgraded-in-layers outfit. He is simply clad in a longsleve black shirt, rolled up to his elbows, and a generic Black Sabbath shirt he found under his bed. Black jeans, as always. Okay, he could have gone without the extra layer underneath.

On top of all this, he is carrying another red crate. He huffs and puffs when he reaches Steve's car, parked in the driveway. He sets the crate down as quiet as possible, convinced that if even the slightest noise were made, he would wake Steve up. We wouldn't want that, now would we?

He gets to work on the lock, again. He hears a click and the trunk pops open. He lifts it opening it fully. He sees the previously placed crate, untouched. He slides the new one in right beside the old and smiles, bittersweet.

He shuts the trunk gently, wiping his hands off on his jeans. He checks the time on his watch, also found that morning under his bed. The watch reads a little after 7. He knows Steve will be awake soon if he isn't already, so he hastily makes his way back towards the main road. He smiles again, as his feet shuffle on the pavement. He has a feeling today will be a good day. Better than he's had in a while. He exhales.

The cars driving by on his walk to school seem particularily harsh this morning. He takes note to be extra careful when he crosses the road. Nobody else is walking right now. It's too early for that. Unless anyone else is mysteriously creeping around their boyfriend's houses, Eddie is definitely one of the only students out and about.

When he gets to school it's pretty quiet. Few students mill silently around the halls. Most of them are cramming in work from the day prior. Eddie walks to his locker. He doesn't need anything from it, since he has a spare first period. So, he just unlocks and locks his locker to give him something to do. He decides to sit down and wait for the day to start. he sits in the same spot where he and Steve had sat many weeks ago. Oh how he misses Steve.

Steve.

He feels bad for the way he's been treating Steve. He doesn't deserve this. But all at the same time he still can't get over the negative thoughts. As much as Steve could tell him that he loves Eddie, that he loves speding time with him, a small part of him believes that he doesn't deserve him. He doesn't actually love Eddie. Sitting here was a bad idea. Today was supposed to be a good day.  And it will be.

He stands up and fixes his shirt. As he walks back up the long dark hallway, he fidgets with his hair. He's hated his hair the last few weeks, due to the severe neglect it had faced. After Steve's failed attept to talk to Eddie the night before, he finally decided to hop in the shower. He's clean, and his hair is nice and soft and properly curly. And he's proud.

He wonders if Steve would be proud?

He reaches the front doors of the school, and exits them. The warm air hits him hard. He soaks in the sun, standing still. Eyes closed he smiles. When he opens them he continues walking around the corner. He hears chatter from everyone that is beginning to arrive at school.

Unfortunately for him, this includes Jason, Josh and Andy. As he rounds the corner he sees them. All propped up on the walk, talking. Jason's back is to him, so it's the other two that notice Eddie first. When they perk up, Jason turns his head to see what is bothering them now. Eddie lowers his eyes to the ground and attempts to walk around them. This doesn't work.

"Where do you think you're going, freak?" Jason calls, as he steps in Eddie's way. He glares at the jock and tries to go around. Once again he is cut off. "I'm talking to you!"
