Chapter 14 (Woodland Dream):

You were kind enough to pay for the meal and drinks before you all left to leave. It was quite dark out indicating that it's now night. Therefore Diluc offered to walk you home, which you accepted. 

So now, the two of you are walking back to your home. The night was chilly but not too chilly. The sky was bright yet dark with multiple stars shining. Other than the muffled music coming from the Dawn Winery, it was completely silent with just crickets chirping. 

"That went better than expected, right Diluc?" you said while walking. 

"Yeah totally," he responded, rolling his eyes slightly at the statement. 

He then sighed and looked to the side, still walking beside you. He thought you wouldn't hear him sigh but since you were right beside him, it didn't go past your ear and you heard it. 

"Hey, I've heard sighs a lot in my lifetime and that was a sigh of something bothering you. What's up?" you asked him. 

"The sky."

"...Okay, let me rephrase that question. Are you alright?" 

"I am feeling fine, thank you. I...Would like to thank you for accompanying me tonight with the hangout meeting. I believe I might have lost my cool with that blue-haired son of a b-" He stopped talking before taking a look at you for a few seconds. 

"You were about to swear. Weren't you?" 

"Not at all. Moving on, I don't honestly hate Kaeya that much as most people think," he said in a calm manner. 

"I just wish that moment didn't happen. I just wished that..." he trailed off of his sentence. "Never mind, you don't have to hear such thoughts." 

You didn't bother pressuring him to tell you and just continued to walk beside him. You understood that some things are meant to be kept to ones' self unless they want to reveal it. In this case, you didn't want to cause Diluc to be in distress nor unsettled by forcing him to tell youAs you were wandering off mentally, you didn't notice that you both arrived at your home. 

"Uh...Thank you for walking me back. Have a good night," you said, breaking the silence. 

"No worries, have a good night. Thank you again, I really do appreciate it," he said before walking off. 

You watched him walk away before you remembered that Albedo was still inside. 

All of a sudden, you were filled with excitement realizing that the love of your life was still inside your home. 

"Oh ALBEDO!~😍" you shouted in a sing-song manner, shutting the front door.

You went to the living room expecting for him to be there but he wasn't. You decided to check your bedroom to see if he was there but he wasn't there either. You continued looking for him all around your home. 

"Where is this cute bitch?" you asked yourself. 

You thought of some places he would be but let's just say, you thought of the worst scenarios. 

"What if he got kidnapped? What if he left to go to Liyue? What if he tried to cook something but burned himself with fire and tried going outside to get rid of it, but instead burnt himself into dust?!" 

You were going to think of some other situations that could've happened but snapped out of it by hearing footsteps behind you. 

"Oh, you're back," you heard a familiar silky, lovely, wonderful, magnificent, heart-stopping, pleasant, charming, smooth, delightful, and more positive adjectives said. 

"ALBEDO! THERE YOU ARE, I WAS LOOKING ALL OVER FOR YOU," you shouted at not too loud volume, running to hug him with your eyes closed. That was a terrible idea.

You immediately regretted that since you ran into a flat wall. You held your nose in pain before heading towards Albedo with your eyes open. 👁 👁

"Are you okay?" he said with little concern. You nodded before taking a look at the thing in his hands. 

"Don't worry about me...What are you holding?" you asked, removing the hand from your nose, pointing to his hands. 

"It's mint. Also, you should go rinse your nose with water, it looks like it's bleeding," he said before walking away. 

You went to follow his instructions. Not exactly but instead, you wiped your nose with a tissue before washing your hands.

"I made you something to eat. I'm not the best cook but-" – he handed the dish to you – "I hope you enjoy this dish. I like to call it the 'Woodland Dream'."

You took a look at it and realized it looked very familiar to the one that you made for him this morning with the help of Diluc. 

"Albedo...Did you return the breakfast I made you to me as dinner," you said in a displeased tone. "Please, tell me you haven't."

"Don't worry, I didn't return the breakfast you made me. The breakfast you made me was honestly good and I finished it all. I just recreated it for my tasting and I know it as my special dish," he announced. "Which I now will give to you to try." 

Your disappointment was replaced with delight when you took a bite of his cooking. 

"Oh wow! It's not bad Albedo," you responded in a kind tone. "Really good actually." You ate in silence while Albedo was looking at the ground. 

"So, are you staying over again or? I mean that is if you want to, I don't mind. If you want to stay forever, go ahead," you said in an enthusiastic tone after swallowing your second bite. 

"Unfortunately for you, I'm not. I have to go to Dragonspine to test out more experiments since I consider today was a break day. Thank you for the offer though," he said before continuing to talk. "I'll be taking my leave now. Good night, hope you have a good sleep." 

"You too! Don't miss me too much!" you said loudly before taking another bite.

Albedo sighed before he closed the door.
