It was a particularly cold Monday morning in Derry, Ireland. A young girl with curly dark brown hair and hazel eyes was just getting out of bed, a few blankets wrapped around her to shield her from the cold. She checked the time on her clock, 8:15, which meant she was late for school. She rolled her eyes at her tendency to be unorganised; she only had five minutes to get ready. It really didn't matter; she never really put much effort into her appearance, why would going without brushing her hair make any difference?

At the same time in Cheshire, England two young girls were walking to school together after a night of fun at a sleepover at one of the girls, Anna's, houses. The girls were giggling insanely about one of the many funny things that happened the previous night, Ella, the one with long blonde hair and a big grin, had emailed her English teacher her homework answers but had accidentally used her email address she uses for out of school, OneDirectionaremybabes@hotmail.com. Anna could not stop laughing when the teacher emailed back saying 'may I ask who this is?' and Ella realised her mistake. What made it even worse is that they had English first thing after home room that day! They walked into the school gates and had five minutes to spare before home room. They put their bags in their lockers which were right next to each other; somehow the teacher had pulled their names out of the hat consecutively, and then walked to home room just as the bell rang. They took their seats in the second row of the classroom while Mr Fitzgerald read out the notices for the day. As the two girls sat there they had a strange feeling creeping over them. Ella sat there and hoped with all her might that they would have a relief for English. Her hopes were answered as her and Anna walked in to their first period class and saw a young male teacher instead of their usual sixty year old female hawk-like teacher.

It was the middle of math class in a high school in London; Laura was drawing in her exercise book and smiling as her friend told a joke. Only then did Laura remember how much she had struggled with her homework the previous night, and just how much she had made up in her homework. She couldn't face her teacher, Ms Dunfer, seeing just how bad she did the previous night. It was as if the school worked around Laura as the bell rang when Ms Dunfer was checking the boy's homework next to her. Laura smiled to herself and went happily on her way out the door.

At a school in Manchester, a girl named Taylor was in sports class playing volleyball, Taylor was a very athletic person and loved to play sports. She served the ball and the game started, Taylor did most of the work as the other girls in the team new she was perfectly capable of playing a whole game of volleyball all by herself. The game ended and her team won - of course. As she walked to the change rooms she got a round of "Good games" from her friends and acquaintances alike. Taylor grinned; it was the comments like that which gave her the extra push to be the best she could be. She did things for herself, she was the best because she knew she had the potential to be and chased her goal.

At recess time in Liverpool, Eden was eating yoghurt while non-stop talking to her friends Danika and Jasmine, Eden tends to talk a lot, and very loudly, she guesses her friends must be used to it by now, even though they did tell her occasionally to shut up. She was so excited because they had half a day of school off, so Eden thought she'd take advantage of that and go home and spend time on her iPad. She packed her bag and left school. As she walked home she counted the birds she saw; three crows, seven pigeons, one owl...that one in particular seemed strange to her.
