Classes for Eden had been running smoothly, she had been sitting with Draco in them, much to Laura's annoyance. As she walked to Divination one day she felt a tug on her shirt, she turned around to find Mackenzie standing there looking quite angry.
"So, some Slytherin sixth years decided it would be fun to trip me over," she growled, Eden gave her a look of sorrow - well she tried to – she was sympathetic but had trouble showing it with Mackenzie, for some reason.
"Just trip them back," Eden said, that would be so simple to do, she thought.
"I'm not going to be a stupid idiot like them." she replied.
Eden thought that on some level Mackenzie expected her to defend her from them. She would want Eden to go up to them and tell them off, but the thing was, she couldn't do that. Eden was just scraping by on being a good Slytherin; she couldn't go prancing up to a sixth year who wants to pound people's faces in. Mackenzie's eyes suddenly widened and she pointed in the direction that Eden's back was facing. She turned to see Amy holding hands with Ernie McMillan from Hufflepuff. They both grinned at that, Ernie was a hot headed boy and it was nice to see that he was making friends - or more - with Amy. Mackenzie's eyes returned to their normal size, but her eyebrows were now furrowed.
"I did something bad," she swallowed, "I wasn't the only one."
"What did you do? And who else?" Eden sighed; she really didn't want to deal with that then,
"Well, you know how we wanted to know why Aneesha and Keira spend so much time with the twins? Taylor took something from Aneesha's drawer, and we read it with the others. There's stuff in there that explains everything. They nominated me to tell you its contents," Mackenzie swallowed hard, she grabbed Eden's hand and pulled her behind a tapestry for some privacy, she continued, "Keira and Aneesha have different reasons. Aneesha's is not as serious as Keira's. Aneesha has an extreme crush on one of the twins, she never states who, but from what she writes I can tell she is completely infatuated by them. Keira is a different matter. It turns out that the Weasley family know who Keira's dad is, and at the end of this year Keira will meet him. I can't blame Keira for not wanting to tell us. I don't think we should tell them that we know, we just need to be more understanding."
Eden agreed to that, there was no need for them to know that they knew - but there was a way for them to help Aneesha out with her situation. Perfect timing is a thing that Eden needed to be more thankful for because through the gap in the tapestry she could see two tall redheaded twins as they walked past them. Eden pulled Mackenzie out of the tapestry and they began to follow the twins.
"Weasley!" Eden shouted. Both Fred and George turned around.
"Hi, we're friends with Keira and Aneesha; we just thought that since they are friends with you we should get to know you guys better." Mackenzie smiled kindly as she presented her offer.
"Uh, sure." They simultaneously responded.
"Oh, cool! First, who is who?" Mackenzie asked, they chuckled at this,
"I'm Fred-"
"And I'm George." They spoke from left to right.
"May I ask you some questions? Stop me if they get too personal," Eden asked, they nodded, "Do either of you currently have a girlfriend?"
They shook their head, "Do either of you currently have a crush on someone?" They both nodded.
"Do you have a crush on someone in third year?" They both nod again. Mackenzie and Eden look at each other and grin - jackpot.
"Thanks." Mackenzie quickly said. They then ran off leaving the twins looking utterly confused.
"Well that settles it then!" Eden exclaimed as they stood near the Hufflepuff common room entrance.
"No, it doesn't, it just makes everything more confusing," Mackenzie sighs, Eden raised her eyebrows, "They both like someone in third year! That means they either both like Aneesha, one likes her and one likes someone else, or neither of them like her!"
"Oh crap." was all Eden could respond with. They may have just made the situation worse. Eden started to walk back to the Slytherin common room after Mackenzie went into the Hufflepuff one. Eden was walking but soon saw Laura sitting on the floor of the first floor. She didn't look like herself.
"What's wrong?" Eden asked, Laura looked up at her,
"I feel really sick." she muttered,
"You need fresh air." Eden pulled her up and walked her out to the lake.
"I still feel sick." she whined after five minutes of sitting by the lake.
"Take off your jacket then, and the necklace." Eden said. She pulled off her jacket and undid her necklace.
"I feel better, I feel free." Laura grinned as she said that, and placed her necklace on the floor.
"Should we head back to the common room then?" Eden asked, Laura nodded.
"There's something about that necklace - it's not good. It's a Slytherin family thing, but it makes you feel horrible."
"Makes me glad I'm a half-blood." Eden shuddered.
As they walked away Eden turned her head back and saw Ella, Anna and Taylor. The thing that made her stop for a second was Ella holding the necklace curiously. She considered whether she should turn back and stop Ella from picking it up or keep walking. She went with the latter. The necklace might have made her feel weird, but Ella seemed to like it, and if she liked it there would be no way to get her to put it down.
