Chapter 13 - Daichi Yamada And The Case Of An Extrovert Adopting An Introvert

After shutting off the tablet, Tomura sighed with a little smile. It was nice talking to Alice, she reminded him of someone he used to know...

He set the tablet aside, got up from the bed and rubbed at his eyes. Thinking about what Nezu said about going to visit his neighbors.

He thought 'Half-way there" eh? Forget that, I want a full score'

Tomura smiled a little to himself as he mentally accepted the 'challenge' he'd thought Nezu had given him, going to get something better to wear out.

Footsteps could be heard, in the hallway. After a few seconds of silence, something knocked at Tomura's door, hesitantly.

"Hello? hmmm... Guess not"

Tomura to the door quickly, opening it and almost using 5 fingers,(Thank god that didn't happen) as he heard the voice on the other side "Hey-?" He seemed a little shocked that someone was visiting him.

Outside stood a bright-eyed, lanky man, long blond hair combed in a fell swoop to one side. He wore sharp square glasses, a clean shave, and a shining grin. He was currently (attempting) to hold a pose of sorts, one hand hiding behind his back.

"WEEELCOME NEIGHBOR!"

a pause, much more quietly "my cousin would be so much better at this"

"Yes, anyways! Sorry! Daichi Yamada, to your service!"

a flower pot appeared from behind him "Thought I'd bring you a little house-warming gift, to make this place a bit more alive!"

Tomura flushed a little in embarrassment and nervously smiled "I have no idea what I was expecting when my landlord told me you were here, but hello! Hehehe... A-Also thank you!" He gratefully took the flower pot into his arms.

"Your cousin.. Present Mic? Right? I can definitely see the similarities." Tomura chuckled a little awkwardly, and stepped aside. "C-Come in if you want to." He stuttered, trying to be polite.

"Yeeees, he is! Just the best, right?" Daichi was grinning, proudly "You're a fan? I could totally arrange a meeting if you wanna!"

He stepped in, looking around "Looks like you already made yourself at home just fine here, huh? Man, when did you even have time for that? Was trying to get a hold of you all day yesterday, but you were gone the entire time! And then I saw that ambulance yesterday, gave me a real fright, ya know?"

"Buuuuut, glad you're doing" he stumbled on his words, spotting a bandage peeking out below Tomura's clothes "fine..."

Tomura chuckled a little "Not exactly a fan, just that my previous... job required me to know a bunch about heroes."

He carried the flower pot in and set it up on a windowsill, looking back to give a more relaxed smile. "Yeah, sorry about that. Had a business trip that went a little awry. Emergency evacuation of a populated building left me with a few bumps and scratches, the medical team wouldn't leave me alone."

Daichi's eyes widened "You were in the Mitsuki Compounds?"

Mumbling, "Damn.... That was all over the news ya know? Building just... collapsing like that, scary stuff. Makes ya wonder, ya know?"

"Do I know ya from somewhere? You look somewhat familiar... Ah, never mind, probably just my mind" he chuckled "Got a bit of a messy brain sometimes, my friends like to joke about it"

Tomura avoided eye contact at the first remark, just awkwardly laughing in response.

The second question seemed to make him very nervous as he started to scratch at his neck moderately "Nah... hehe.. I doubt iiit, my face just tends to scare people off I think...!" It was pretty clear that he was lying, he couldn't keep a steady voice tone while scratching more than lightly.
