Chapter 12 - Hey, Alice, You're Buffering-

Dad : Think you might have some time now?

Dad : Alice would be happy to see you

Tomura had just gotten up, and read the texts; smiling a little at them before replying.

N/A : Yeah, I'm good now. Just going to try and figure out the device Hideo gave me to do that.

As said, he reached over and picked up the tablet, examining it.

Tomura quickly found out a way to turn it on, and it was smooth sailing from there.

The screen turned on, showing a (slightly less) exhausted Tomura, still in bed.

"Hello there, had a good rest?"

Nezu patted Shadow on the back "Don't worry, Shadow over here will be able keep a secret. I'll ask you not to traumatize him too much, though, if possible" he chuckled, and turned the screen to Alice.

Tomura's hair looked surprisingly different. Unlike the dusty grey it was before, it was bright white; and actually looked kinda fluffy since it had dried from the shower while he slept.

The villain smiled a little and nodded "No problem. Hey Alice, you doing alright?"

A flicker of recognition lit in Shadow's eyes as he saw Tomura, but the boy spoke nothing of it.

Alice gave a small smile "yeah..." she stared at the screen "Tomura.....I miss you, even though it hasn't even been a full day yet" she gave a small laugh.

Tomura chuckled softly and smiled back "Miss you too... It's a little lonely over here. Is your arm healing..?"

Alice nodded "Yeah, I should be able to leave in a few days, Recovery Girl had healed some of it but I didn't have a whole lot of stamina for her to fully heal it" she hummed "How about you? How are you doing? Are you doing ok??"

Tomura nodded back "Only scrapes and a little muscle overworking from the mission. The paramedic seemed more concerned about my past injuries. I'm okay!"

Alice hummed in approval "That's good" she said "......I'm sorry by the way" she looked down

"I'm sure the mission would have gone differently if I didn't go...." she said solemnly.

Tomura hushed and shook his head with a smile "Hey, I'm sure I would've found some way to fuck up even if you didn't tag along. I'm not used to working by myself. And... I'm not sure if I would've been able to keep my mental state stable if I accomplished what I was supposed to do, let alone without you there."

Alice gave a small laugh "Probably, but I got the most damage done to me" she placed her hand on her broken arm "If I hadn't been weak then maybe I wouldn't have gotten hurt"

Her smile dropped "Albis.....the one who had broken my arm....he was what you would call toxic and obsessive" she let out a shaky sigh "Albis was one of the main reasons I never really liked to talk, talking would result with me being hit or locked away. He didn't like me talking to anyone, I panicked when I seen him"

Tomura sighed a bit, not sure how to talk about it without seeming insensitive "Damn... Well, are you happy with the fact you could probably put him in a pepper shaker now and no one would notice?"

He gave an awkward smile that faded into a shameful expression. "Seriously though.... is it a bit better for ya now that he's.... gone...?" Tomura asked hesitantly.
