~Alesta's POV

I jolt up, my breathing unsteady, as I take in my surroundings. I'm in some sort of room, or shaft. It's like a cage of some sort. It's moving upward. And I can't see a thing. I felt around me, All I feel is metal. A metal cage.

That can't be right. Why would someone put me in a cage?

Elevator.

Why did I think of that? Come to think of it, it is moving upward.

Wait, where is it going? What should I expect? Should I be scared? Will I die? Wait, who am I?

I suddenly hear a voice in my head.

Alesta.

What? Is that a name? Is that my name?

Questions keep jumbling in my mind. Like, where am I? Why was I put here? Where's my family? My friends? Why did they agree to bring me here? I felt tears threaten to spill from my eyes.

After waiting for almost an eternity, the thing came to a halt. I waited for something to happen. It seemed like hours before a straight line of light appeared at the top of the room. It expanded until I was covered with a blinding light. It took my eyes some time to adjust to the light, because I've been in darkness for what seemed like hours, but I could finally see what looked like boys, huddled around the opening of the room. My guess was that there were about fifty to sixty of them.

One of the boys jumped in the room with me. He was about 17 years old, he was dark-skinned and had neatly-cut hair and his face shaven clean.

"Holy shuck." The boy said.

"Whatya' see Alby?"

"Yeah what's in there Alby?"

"Where's da' new Greenie?"

"Does he look like klunk?"

Shuck, Greenie, Klunk?

What the hell does that mean? Their language is very unfamiliar. It sounded like they came from a different planet.

The boy, Alby, I presumed, came closer, and when he did his eyes widened.

I guess the boys saw his reaction because they kept on throwing questions at him.

"What happened Alby?"

"He dead?"

"Is there even anyone in there?"

"Slim it! It's a shucking girl." Alby said, his voice calmer when he said the second sentence, well, more like statement.

"A girl?!"

"Is she hot?"

"I call dibs!"

"We should throw her in the Slammer!"

"QUIET! OR BREAK'LL BE CUT IN HALF!" Alby yelled. That got them to shut up.

Seems like he's the leader of this, well, I don't exactly know.

"Hey Greenbean, wanna come with me?" he said with a calm voice while holding out his hand.

I took it and stood up. Which caused more rambling and cat calls than ever.

"Throw the rope down!" Alby yelled to the boys, and soon enough, a rope with a loop came down.

"Come on, let's get you outta' here." He lead me to the rope and told me to put my foot in the loop.

I did so and soon enough, I was out of the room and surrounded by dozens of boys, helping me get up and out of the dark and dirty room.

It made me sort of nervous and anxious, to have all of those boys gawking at me. And when I felt the heat rush up to my cheeks I knew my face was beet-red.

It took me awhile to get used to the stares, but what I saw beyond the plethera of boys surrounding me was jaw-dropping.

Walls, perfectly positioned to make a perfect square, with an opening in the middle that leads to long corridors that I have yet to see.

"Welcome to The Glade."

Author's Note*

HI! So sorry if this chapter was VERY short. I kinda broke my phone's charger and I have to use my laptop, which is alot harder than using a phone. Anyways, I promise the next chapters are gonna be longer, I just dunno when I'm actually gonna have the energy to write the next chapters. Probs when I have 'inspiration', or when my bloody summer classes end. I swear I hate Math, I also hate the teacher, but moving on. I hope you guys like the story. Sorry that Newtie boy isn't there yet, but he will be in the following chapter ( I HOPE). Anyways, too-da-loo!
