{Chapter Twenty Four - The Cage}

THE NEXT DAY LOVE GOES TO THE STORAGE, ACTUALLY PAYING ATTENTION TO THE GLASS CAGE, MAKING SURE IT WASN'T JUST PLASTIC SO SHE TRACES A PART OF IT WITH HER FINGER. It's glass.

She moves some of her things into the storage, and some of the things into the cage. She sees a key that belongs to the cage on the bookshelf so she moves it to the flower pot.

"Better." She whispers to herself, continuing to make the storage room more hers since it belongs to her now.

Delilah calls her, and she answers, organizing the books on the bookshelf. "Hello?"

"Ellie's waiting for you. Something about the cupcakes?"

"The cupcakes are in the fridge at your place. In a plastic circular container." Love replies while sweeping the floor with the broom and dustpan.

Delilah nods on the other side of the phone call. "Alright and when are you coming back from wherever you are so I can make you something like uh...cereal?"

"I thought you said you'd try cooking today. And I don't know when I'll be back but probably in like fifteen minutes so surprise me with what you make." Love hangs up and puts a pillow and blanket in the cage.

She puts a cooler in there that contains of cold snacks and drinks in case if she actually puts someone in there they'll have something until she cooks.

The brunette also places some books in the cage on the desk with a bookmark, she finishes tiding the place up not so long after the call and leaves.

When she arrives at Delilah's apartment, the door was unlocked so she slowly entered the apartment, making sure everyone and everything was okay.

"I'm here!" Love announces while setting her purse on the coffee table in the living room.

"Good because in that short amount of time I somehow was able to make some Raspberry Oat Scones but then I realized that those don't take a long time to bake. So here you go!" Delilah sets the plate in front of Love along with a glass of alcohol.

"Alcohol? This early in the morning? It's not even ten yet." Love giggles and takes a tip. "But I'm not complaining so thank you."

Delilah chuckles. "You're welcome and luckily for us Ellie just went to school with the cupcakes. I hope everything goes well for her."

"Same. And this scone is delicious." Love remarks, taking another bite.

"Thanks." Delilah smiles. "I met your parents before, Love." She sits up, realizing.

"Well that's because I want to take this relationship slow before diving straight into that just in-"

Delilah interrupts. "In case things don't work out? Why wouldn't they? Unless Lydia sabotages everything."

"Lydia won't do that. She wouldn't do something like that." Love's quick to deny.

"Maybe. Maybe not. She was mad jealous when we were only friends. There's not telling what that bitch would and wouldn't do."

"Aren't you her lawyer?" Love inquires.

"Her divorce attorney. Even though I'm helping her get divorced doesn't mean she's not a bitch which we can all admit that she is." Delilah shrugs.

"She's gotten better. Anyone getting a divorce from someone they actually loved would turn into a bitch in five seconds just to cope." Love takes another sip of the alcohol.

"If they were so in love then why are they getting a divorce?"

Love sets the glass down. "Because they're just growing apart. Or maybe the marriage just doesn't feel like they both are in love anymore. Who knows?"

"Them. But Everytime I ask Lydia she gives me the cold shoulder. I can't help her with this divorce if she doesn't tell me anything about it." Delilah huffs.

"She was at a writers retreat so I'm sure things will be a lot better now. Besides, at the retreat she had time to cope and deal with the fact that she's getting a divorce." Love leans back in her seat.

"Possibly." Delilah remarks.

Love began to decide whether or not Juliette would be the first person she traps. Juliette needs to change, she also needs to stop attempting to manipulate everyone around her just to get her way with Forty. Maybe Love will teach her to stop. Just maybe.
