"You ready, Rene?" Mike said, shining a blinding light in my face. I soon realized that blinding light was the dreadful sun. I slept in fairly late, and he was trying to wake me up.

"Ugh, what time is it?" I groaned. I slowly sat up, remembering all the times I hit my head on the bunk above me. That was never fun.

"Judging by my watch," Jaime said, bringing me a Monster to wake me up (that seemed to be his signature thing now),"time for you to get out of bed." I laughed, standing up to stretch. "It's the afternoon. Hungry?"

Vic threw a bag to me, which I almost didn't catch. I looked at it and realized it was McDonald's. "We just guessed what you might want," he apologized as I took out a fry.

"It's perfect, actually," I said, taking a sip from my Monster as I tried to keep Tony away from my fries. I looked up at them. "Thanks, guys." Vic and Mike smiled. Why was it that they always smiled at the same time?

"So, you ready for your first real concert with us?" Mike asked. "The crowd is going to love you." Crowd. The word echoed in my thoughts. I never did too well with crowds. This was something I definitely had to get used to. "We've got a sold-out show. It's going to be amazing!" He sounded so excited. I was, too. But I was nervous that the fans might not like me. I didn't know why this was such a big deal. I just didn't want to disappoint anybody. Being a Fuentes is stressful.

Mike, Tony, and Jaime left the bus, leaving Vic and me by ourselves. "You're nervous," he said. It wasn't a question. He just knew. "It's okay. I always get nervous before I go onstage, too." He got quiet for a moment. "We can help each other out, yeah? You can get over your stage-fright and I can break the ice." I looked at him, waiting for whatever crazy idea he's got now. "Will you sing 'Hold On Till May' with me?"

"I can't sing in front of people, Vic. What if I freeze?"

"Don't worry about a thing. I'll be right there with you, okay? All of us will. The fans. They'll be there with you. Hundreds of people will be cheering for you. I know you can do this, Rene. You just got to believe that you can do it, too." He gave me a tight, brotherly hug. "Come on," he started,"let's go catch up with those idiots before they break something."

We left the bus to see what the rest of the band was doing. I laughed at what Vic said, only because I knew he was genuinely serious.

We were quite the sight. Five idiots running around and screaming the most random things we could think of. Jaime started chanting like the crowd does before they go on. "Pierce the Veil! Pierce the Veil!" There was a pause between every word. All of us began chanting.
