"We're headed to LA," Jaime said, appearing from a doorway. "It's real great there. We've got a sold-out show, and we're all really excited." He placed a hand on my shoulder. "We're really glad you're here, Rene. Even though we're not your blood brothers, we can still be like family." A smile tugged at the sides of my lips. I haven't smiled so much in my life!
"Did you make this?" Tony asked, still playing with my kandi bracelet. I nodded. "Can you make me one?"
"Of course!" We discussed what he wanted on the bracelet while Vic and Jaime went to their bunks and Mike listened to music. Tony told me we'd stop by an arts and crafts store and he'd get me what I needed to make the kandi. He decided on (of course) a turtle pattern.
"You're going to need a bunk, aren't you?" Vic asked, coming around a corner.
"I get my own bunk?" I asked.
"Well, of course you do! You're going to be on the rest of the tour with us. Come on. Choose one."
I decided on a bunk, which already had a pillow and blankets. "Eventually, you'll get fans just for being a family member on tour with us and they'll make you really cool things to put in your bunk," Tony explained. He gestured to his bunk. "I have a lot of fan gifts on my bunk." There were a lot of plush turtles fans had found and given to him. It made me so happy to know they really ARE appreciative of their fans.
I loved it here more and more as the minutes went by. Even if we WERE stuck on a bus. But, come on, I was with the Pierce the Veil. I'm sure I'd be happy in a sewer with them. Tony would be highly amused, considering the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lived in a sewer.
I felt as if my life had just begun, and life had never been so great.
