"Bye Mum!" I called as I stepped out the car.
"Bye hunny, call me if you need a lift back or anything." My Mum said.
"Nah I'll be fine I have practise after this anyway, but thanks mum." I told her as I grabbed my bag from the footwell.
"Ok see ya later."
I turned round and walked towards Starbucks. As I went through the door the bell rung, signalling the workers that someone had entered.
I walked over to the counter. It was relatively quiet inside the small café.
"Hi, what can I get for you?" The employee asked me.
"Hi, can I get a caffé mocha please." I said.
"Sure thing Kody." It was then that I noticed it was Edward working.
"Oh! Hi Eddy! How's you?" I asked my cousin as he rang up the till. Handing my order to another worker.
"I'm good. What's got you here today?"
"Nothing much, just studying." I shrugged.
"Cool. What class?" Edward was two years older than me. So he knew most of the teachers.
"History, Mrs Jones."
"Ahh Lucy's mum." He nodded, "She's nice."
"Yeah she is."
"Well here's your mocha." Ed winked at me, "Enjoy."
I went and sat down at a table and waited for Jamie. I didn't have to wait long. At twelve thirty one he walked through the doors.
He spotted me and sat down. "Tut tut tut you're late." I scolded him jokingly.
"Ha funny Kody." He said sarcastically but he smiled all the same.
"So what are we gonna do?" I asked him.
"Well I brought some poster paper and some information from yesterday..."
"Yeah and I have some pictures." I nodded.
"We're gonna need a bigger table." Jamie stated.
"Yeah..."
We picked up our stuff and went to the back booths where there was more room.
We set to work.
"Jamie can you pass me the glue stick please?" I asked him as I stuck down the picture I had in my hand. I put my hand out for it.
"Yeah sure, here you go." Jamie said.
I then felt glue all over my hand. He'd spread the glue right along my palm.
"OhmyGod! Jamie! Ewwww!" I yelled, wiping my hand on a napkin.
He burst out laughing.
"It's not funny!" But I couldn't help but laugh along with him.
Once we calmed down, we packed up. We had spent almost an hour in Starbucks doing our work. Together, we had gone through almost six coffees.
I stood up and threw my bag over my shoulder. Jamie did too.
"Bye Jamie." I said as we shuffled out the booth.
"Yeah I'll see ya on Monday." He hugged me, I returned it.
He pulled back and I smiled at him. He smiled and walked away, out the door.
