Beep! Beep! Beep!
I hit my alarm clock with a little more force than necessary. I mean come on! It's Saturday for crying out loud! It's national day of sleep, well it is for me anyway.
I got up after five minutes of just lying in bed. After I was dressed I went down the stairs, where I heard quiet hushed voices.
"Kayden, you can't." Said a voice.
"Why not?" Someone replied, probably Kayden.
"What about Kody uhh? You didn't think of that did you?" The voice told him. I wanted to know more but I couldn't so I stepped on the last step and it creaked loudly.
"Morning!" I shouted with enthusiasm.
"Eh... Morning?" Kayden replied.
"Isn't it morning?" I asked.
"Yes?" Kayden asked.
"Oh that's good." I said smiling.
"Ok who are you and what have you done with my exceedingly annoying little sister?" Kayden raised his eyebrows questionably.
"I'm only younger by three minutes so don't even go there." I said, putting my hands on hips, I didn't like the older brother card. In fact I hated it.
"And she's back." He stated, rather rudely.
"I was never gone." I snapped.
"Whoa calm there young one." Kayden said smirking.
"Ok Kody why on earth are you up at," My mum checked her wrist watch, "At quarter too nine on a Saturday?"
"Is it illegal for me to be up this early 'cause no one Informed me of this new law." I replied to her question.
"Ok so you don't want me to know that's fine I was just wondering." My mother said.
"Ok right, who's the boy, what's his name, what's he do, what's his parents do and I want to have a wee chat with him." Kayden said.
"OMG Kayden." I huffed, "There is no boy ok."
"Ok I'll just meet him another time." He said as he walked out the room.
"So I take it you won't be in the house for whatever you're doing." My mum asked.
"No, Eve's coming to pick me up in a few minutes." I told her.
Eve's dad had got her a car and she had passed her driving test last month.
"Ahh so it's a girl's day out."
"Yes, and I won't be in the house till about three this afternoon." I said, after a little bit of thinking.
I grabbed my IPod, IPhone and bag with necessities in it, as a car horn beeped outside.
"That's Eve!" I shouted, "See ya soon."
"Hiya Evie what's up?!" I asked as I slid into the car.
Silence.
I looked over, "Eve? You ok?"
I was met with silence.
Eve started the car, we jolted forward, still in silence.
"Fine I'll shut up then." I said looking out my window as Eve started to speed up, going too fast for this little bit of road.
"Eve come on what's wrong?" I asked again.
"Nothing." She sighed.
"Just by the sigh at the end of that I know there's something wrong so saying 'nothing' was kinda pointless."
