After the incident with the hand, Mono and I temporarily got separated because I had to boost him. While I waited in the (seemingly) empty room, I started to push around boxes. At some point, two little figures darted away, making me draw my switchblade and just about cut myself. I saw two Nomes scurry under a bed and disappear.
"Hey wait, I'm sorry!" I told the Nomes,putting the knife away and following them. I felt arou d the bed and found a crack in the wall, big enough to crawl through. I squeezed through and took out my campfire lighter. (One of the long ones with a trigger.) The room was illuminated, revealing to me a little closet with a boarded up door. In the corner was a ratty pillow with stuffing poking out, and opposite to it where the two Nomes. They looked... different than the other Nomes I'd seen. They had little clothes on, and flower crowns.

The one in the overalls had a butter knife in their hand, jabbing at me threateningly. "Don't do that, you'll hurt yourself." I said, grabbing the dull blade and tugging it from their hands. "I'm sorry I scared you. My name's Thirteen. What're your names?" I asked them, sitting on my calves. The one in the skirt went over to a scrap of paper and a crayon the size of themselves. J-u-n-e They wrote shakily. "Martha. It's nice to meet you. And what's your name?" I asked the one in the overalls. J-a-k-e They wrote.
"It's a pleasure to meet you two. Have you lived here with the mannequins and the Doctor?" Shit. I realized, I never told Mono and Six about the Doctor. They nodded and I looked at the tiny space. "Hmm... How about this, my friends and I are heading to the tower, to see what's going on, and after that, we're going to look for somewhere safe. Would you like to come with us?" I asked, extending my hand. They seemed to converse, chittering like squirrels, before both grabbing my hand and shaking it. "June, Jake, welcome to the team." I said.
"THIRTEEN! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Mono asked. The Nomes and I flinched. "That's Mono. One of my friends. Don't worry, he's super nice." I said, crawling out of the closet. "Hi Mono." I said, appearing. "Uh... Hi? Why where you under the bed?" He asked. "I was following some Nomes. This is Jake, and this is June. They're a part of the team now." I said simply.
