Drip. I peeked open my eyes just as a raindrop hit my forehead. "Hell." I mumbled as it ran down my face.
The sky was grey for the first time in over a week, and thunder rumbled. I sat up with a groan as Mono looked around sadly. "I hoped it wouldn't rain anytime soon." He said before looking at me and turning oddly red.

I felt myself turn red when I saw Thirteen in the rain. Skittering rivulets ran down her hair like liquid rubies and garnets before dripping onto her shirt. Grey skies made amethyst eyes stand out.
And then the raft lurched.

I shrieked in terror as the raft threw us around. The Nomes hopped into the hood of my parka as I grabbed onto the sails mast. Mono grabbed onto the sail to prevent himself from plummeting into grey water.
The rivers current sped up and tipped the raft left and right. Thunder crashed above us and lightning crackled, striking a tree and catching on fire. The red blaze was swept from sight as the river brought us along.
Mono yelled something, drowned out by the wind, and it made me concerned. "What? I yelled. "Rocks!" He yelled, pointing ahead of us.
I turned my head and saw sharp rocks protruding from the dark water, and we got ever closer. "Nonononon-!" We crashed into the rocks, tearing boards from the raft. I was glad I had the journal in a waterproof pocket of my parka, otherwise we would have lost the map.
Thunder roared in my ears before bubbles flurries around me. My hair wafted in the water, and I lost all sense of direction and time as I snacked against rocks and the riverbed.
I gasped, inhaling water, and a rock appeared in front of me just before I snacked into it. Red mixed into the water as I hit it, and I was pulled from the water as the world darkened.
