It was all so familiar but all so different. That's exactly what Minho felt every time he looked out the window on the bus to Jisung's house.
He remembered the one time they went to the city on the bus. When he thought Jisung was going for a date with Hyunjin and when he himself was going for dinner with his mom.
God that day.
Minho had been looking out the window a bit longer and Jisung noticed it. He placed his hand on Minho's thigh which made him turn to him. "You okay?" Jisung asked to which he received a curt nod.
"I'm nervous but only a little" Minho chuckled. Jisung nodded "It'll be okay"
Jisung was dying of nerves himself. He hadn't really spoken to his parents since the fight, he just lives silently with them. Half of him wished things would go back to how they used to be with them the other half was just against the whole idea.
Jisung didn't really think about wanting things to be okay with his parents again but with Minho beside him, knowing what he had been through his own mom... It made him pause for a moment.
"Oh, we're here" Jisung announced. Minho looked really nervous despite him saying he was only a little bit.
They got off the bus and started walking a little bit until they reached the middle of nowhere but to them both it was somewhere.
It was somewhere they first met.
They reached the side entrance, the lane. Jisung let out a shaky breath before walking over to open the gate. "I purposely took the bus and made us walk so I didn't have to talk to my dad"
Minho laughed but he could tell that Jisung was being underlying serious.
Jisung gulped as they came to the glass doors of the kitchen. He could see his mom sitting down on her phone.
He swallowed his nerves and opened the door. They stepped inside and Minho felt like he was gone back in time. Nothing had changed, the house was still as cozy as it was when he left.
He looked around before he heard Jisung's mother.
"Oh you decided to co-" She froze. Jisung held onto Minho's hand. Minho gave an awkward smile and wave to the woman.
"Hi Mrs. Han" He greeted. Jisung could see his mom trying to process everything in front of her. "M-Minho?"
The sound of his name made Jisung's dad appear out of the living room and another shocked face was staring at them.
"Um.. He's.. Here for a while" Jisung mumbled. He really hated talking to them lately. Minho seemed to be a lot more confident in this situation then he was.
"Sorry to just suddenly drop by without warning" He started. Jisung received a look from his mom. "That's alright" She said while side eyeing Jisung.
"it's nice to see you again" She smiled and finally stepped closer to bring Minho to sit down.
It was weird seeing her so kind to him because Jisung remembered her judging him for being a playboy who wouldn't change.
His dad sat down with them which only meant Jisung had to join instead of standing at the door.
"How's your mother?" Was the first thing she asked Minho. Minho chuckled a little. "I.. Don't associate myself with her anymore" He explained. Jisung's parents became very interested in their son's boyfriend.
Minho began to tell them about what he did when he left, where he went and the places he'd been to.
"Thats...that's amazing" Jisung heard his dad say. His mother hummed. "And Mira and Seulbi.. Did they come with you to Seoul?" She asked.
Minho nodded. "Yeah they're back at the hotel" They both nodded.
"Why did you come back to Seoul? You seemed to be enjoying yourself away from here" Jisung glanced at his dad when he said this.
Minho hummed and looked at Jisung. He ruffled his hair. "For him" He answered. His parents were shocked again.
"But didn't you leave because it would be better or-"
"Mom" Jisung snapped. Minho patted his hand. "What I thought was the right thing was the wrong thing when it came to Jisung"
Jisung knew Minho leaving was probably one of the best things he'd done. He was free from his mother and did what he always wanted to do and even made friends and found long lost family he never knew he'd have.
All while Jisung sat in his room sobbing over every minor inconvenience. That was okay too right?
"Oh" His mother had no words. "So are you two?" Jisung's dad looked.
Minho nodded before Jisung denied. "Yeah, I'm dating your son... Again- but I swear I've matured"
Fuck had he matured. Jisung knew that too well. Minho was not the angsty teen he had met just near two years ago he was now an adult living his life.
He knew right from wrong and yet Jisung still felt helpless in the world.
There was laughter around them. "I'm glad to see you looking so well" Jisung's mom complimented. "Thank you Mrs. Han"
"I told you to call me Eunji, Minho" She gave him a playful look. Jisung's dad piped up. "Look at them honey, may as well call her mom"
Jisung shot him a look. "Dad!" Minho laughed. "Would that be okay with you?" He asked the younger. Jisung looked at his mom and sighed. "Genuinely I don't care"
"Of course you don't" She sighed. "Did he tell you that he didn't apply for college?"
"He did"
There seemed to be an awaited reaction. Like Minho was going to be sad that Jisung didn't follow what he'd wanted.
"People's minds change though right?" Jisung looked over at his boyfriend and he swore he just fell more in love with him.
"Oh" Jisung's dad spoke. "I suppose" He nodded.
It was true, Minho was the living proof. Jisung glanced at his mom.
She held a soft smile. "I suppose they do" She mumbled. "I never thought of it that way.."
Jisung wanted to make a smart comment but he held himself back.
"Do you want to go to college Jisung?" His dad asked. Jisung shook his head a little. "I kinda want to travel like Minho did"
"You're not saying that because Minho is here are you?" His mom questioned. Jisung sighed. "No mom, I genuinely would rather do something with my life than go to college"
There was disappointment in his parents eyes. But he thought about it. "I mean, that doesn't mean I won't go to college one day, I just don't want to now"
Minho looked at him proudly. Jisung smiled.
"By the way, Minho is staying over tonight" Jisung smiled.
"Oh, alright.. You know me and your dad are heading over to my sisters for the night"
Jisung hummed. "I'm aware" Minho looked at him a bit stunned. "You never told me that"
Jisung shrugged. "Maybe I didn't feel like it"
Jisung then got up and dragged Minho to his room.
