Bobby could only keep the power cut for some time, the system was very advanced and was already repairing itself.

"How is this idjit doing that?" Bobby asked cutting another wire making the light flash. It reminded him of a scene from one of those scary movies the boys always begged him to watch, whenever their parents said no. Down the hall he could see the outline of two figures approaching him, and he loaded his gun just in case they tried to do something stupid.

"I'm afraid I don't allow old men into my house," Ketch said. "What are you doing here?"

“I’m here to avenge Arabella’s death and save Dean.” Bobby warned keeping the gun pointed at Ketch.

"Really I never would have guessed," Ketch responded. "Such a shame that he'll find you dead." Ketch was hoping that Bobby wasn't paying attention and that Toni would be able to kill him, but for an old man Bobby had the energy of a man half his age, and he caught Toni's hand before she could stab him.

"Bloody hell." Toni cursed.

“You got that right jackass,” Bobby said and kicked Toni in the stomach sending her into a wall. “I may be an old man but I can still bring on the fight, after all that’s what hunters are all about, you people have been causing us one hell of a lot of trouble and I’m not going to stand for it anymore.”

Sam didn’t expect to be fighting his brother, all he wanted was to keep Dean safe but no matter what, safe was never the answer especially to the men of letters. Dean recovered from the brief blindness before looking around the room until his eyes landed on a broken table leg, he reached down and grabbed it.

“You know Sammy, things would be a whole lot easier if you would sit still,” Dean said and swung the leg but each time Sam would move constantly. “If you don’t stay still your death will be painful!”

"Dean please don't do this, I don't want to fight you!" Sam pleaded. He didn't cry but there was a clear edge in his voice and Dean knew he was holding back tears. "It's that venom, you can't let it control you!” Dean simply laughed and swung the leg again, only Sam disarmed him instantly, but that quick movement had left him wide open and allowed for Dean to grab Sam’s arm and twist it. The action caused Sam to not only lose his gun but his entire arm was now in agony. Sam cried out as Dean kicked him in the stomach, sending him onto the floor.

“That sucks for you doesn’t it?” Dean asked. “Because you really mean that,” he continued. “As for the venom, it’s only opening my eyes to where my loyalties lie and they don’t lie with you!” Sam panted and Dean expected him to burst into tears, but he didn't. In fact he wasn't even showing any signs of pain besides the one in his arm. Confused Dean wondered if Sam had given up and when he bent down to see what was holding Sam back, Sam grabbed him harshly and forced him back to the floor.

"Don't forget that I know all your moves Dean, I was the one that taught you how to fight," Sam reminded him. He held Dean down with his arms so that he could talk some sense into his brother. "Stop fighting me Dean I am not your enemy, and if you don't start listening I'm tying you to a chair!"

“Let me go and start fighting like a man!” Dean struggled trying to break himself free from Sam’s grasp. “You're weak! And weakness always leads to downfall! You’ve been holding me back all these years!”

"I know that's not what you really think De, the venom has changed your memories," Sam told him. "Listen to me you're not loyal to a man who tries to kill you and killed your mother," Dean kept fighting against him and declared that he hated Sam. While hurt deeply by those words Sam didn't give up and kept pushing. "You may hate me, but I love you and I always will even if the whole world hates you," he said. "But if you truly have changed then strike me down." Sam let him go and turned away, closing his eyes. Dean stepped away and grabbed a sharp letter opener and as he was about to stab Sam he paused and his head began to hurt as he got pulled into a memory.

“Come chase me De!” An eight year old’s voice echoed throughout his mind.

“Hey no fair!” his voice echoed. “Sammy you got a head start!” the two were chasing after each other playing a game of tag, by the time Dean got to Sam the brothers fell onto the grass laughing. They were lying on the ground and watching the clouds as they laughed away at their fun.

“Hey De,” Sam said as Dean turned away from the clouds to look over at his brother. “Promise me something?”

“What is it?” seven year old Dean asked.

“Can we promise to protect each other? You know in case something terrible happens?” Sam asked.

“Why would anyone want to hurt us?” Dean asked.

“I don’t know, just a thought.” Sam answered.

“Don’t worry I promise, as long as you promise also.” Dean chuckled.

“I’ll always protect you Dean, your my brother and family always sticks together, no matter what!” The memory faded out and Dean snapped out of the mind control, he dropped the letter opener unsure of why he was about to stab Sam.

“Sammy?” Dean said. “Wh..What’s going on?” Sam punched him just in case this was some kind of act like before but when Dean was still confused Sam hugged him.

"I actually thought that it wouldn't work, if you ever do that to me I will kill you just so I can rescue you and kill you again!" Sam exclaimed. "I love you so much." Even though Dean was freed briefly he glanced behind Sam and saw the snake watching his every move.

“Sammy, you gotta kill the snake that’s what she used!” Dean exclaimed but all he could hear was the snake hissing in his head. “Sam! Behind you!” Sam got out of the way just in time and noticed the snake was a Saw-Scaled Viper, he didn't know how that venom hadn't killed his brother but Sam quickly tricked the snake into wrapping itself into a knot, by making it chase him until the long snake was stuck.

"I always knew reading about snakes was handy, if we make out of this Dean you owe me an apology for calling that book stupid," Sam said picking up the gun he had lost while fighting Dean and shot the reptile in the head causing it to bleed to death. "If I ever see a reptile again it will be too soon."

“Sammy how’d you get here? Where’s Bobby?” Dean asked, still shaken from what happened and his wrist still hurt at least not as bad as it did before while he was chained up.

"It's a long story and if I explain it we will lose the little time we have left De," Sam explained. "We have to expose your father; it will get him kicked out of the men of letters." Dean didn’t know how they would do it or even catch his father off guard but anything would help even if they didn’t have much of a plan. All he wanted was to see Ketch dead and go back to his normal life but he worried that once Ketch was exposed and they killed him, would they turn their attention to him? He was Ketch’s son after all, and if that were the case, would they influence him just as they tried to influence him using a snake?

“I don’t know how you plan to do that, but whatever it is, i’m in.”
