Chapter 50

Taylor pov

Have you ever felt lost?
Not lost like you go walking and now you don't know where you are but the kind of lost like you don't know what went wrong? Or why something that happened even happened?

Idk what went wrong but....something obviously did

Because when Id asked her if she was fine she always said she would say yes

And I think the worst part about being lied to is knowing you weren't worth the truth

I thought she would tell me if she was fine but I guess she isn't , I mean were in the hospital , she obviously wasn't fine

Why would hanalee lie to me

I thought she told me everything
But no , I had to be called while I was Taco Bell to be told that hanalee was at the hospital!!

She called for jack

Not me

I know that I wasn't home but she didn't know that ,

she picked jack Over me

I was interrupted out of my thoughts by a door opening and closing. my head shot up to see Mathew walking out of the door....
Crying?

Hanalee pov

I woke up in a hospital room .... Again.

The last thing I remember is jack picking me up and carrying me down the stairs before I blacked out , I went to sit up but a sharp pain shot through my head causing me to scream out in pain.
I felt a needle go into my arm and I looked up to see a nurse.
Everything got blurry and I blacked out again

Mathew pov

I've watched her wake up and scream in pain just to be out back to sleep multiple times.
She doesn't remember she is waking up so every time it's like a new confusion for her ... a new pain ...that's only getting worse.

The doctors told me that hanalee has a infection in her blood.when she cut herself ,she got an infection and the doctors didn't notice while she was in here the first time because it was so early into the infection
It's causing her to have extreme pains when the infected blood hits the nerves, that's why they try to keep her knocked out. But they can't keep her knocked out forever.

She will have to wake up.

She also had damage to some of her spine so she sometimes can move her legs and hands but not always and when she can her nerves will be in so much pain that they will go numb ,she won't be able to feel them.
They say she can't feel the pain
when she is asleep but something In my head tells me she can

That she feels it all

I gather my thoughts and head out toward the vending machine for a water, leaving jack in the room with hanalee and I see Taylor sitting in the floor crying
He looks at me strangly but then I realize why

I'm crying too

"Is she.." I cut him off before he can finish
"She's fine... we'll shes not dead." I try not to let my voice give out

"Why are you crying" I look at him and wait for him to answer but he looks like he's thinking

"She called jacks name"
At first I was confused but then I realized what he was talking about.
When she was hurt she called for jack

Not Taylor

Not any of the boys

Not even me

She called jack

"Maybe she knew jack was upstairs" i say it in more of a question form than A statement because I'm trying to convince myself just as much as I'm trying to convince him

He nods his head in agreement but you can see it on his face that he doesn't believe it , he knows there is more to it
But it makes me wonder to , if Taylor had always been there for her and she wasn't going to call me why wouldn't she call Taylor , jack had lied to her and deceived her and taylor had done none of those things so why would she call him and not Taylor. I was interrupted out of my thoughts by a doctor walking up to us

"Are you the family of Ms. Valentine..?"

I nod my head and stand up ready for an update

"We'll in afraid we have some bad news...."
