Within two months, his life was turned around. After the passing of his grandmother, the only living relative he had, he was forced to move in with a family.
It had been hard getting used to everyone, but eventually, he felt comfort. His stepsister always got into mischief as he and his stepbrother would always end up following her plans and the three getting into trouble.
Usually these little plots were harmless. Usually.
Today, she wanted to skate on the lake. It had been very snowy and was a long walk away. Omar personally had never been skating or even to that lake, so he was excited.
The three went onto the ice and had a good time. That was until the ice started to crack. Omar didn't think anything of it. He just continued, smiling at his step-siblings. His brother yelled for him to get off the ice when he responded with, "Why? I'm having so much fun!"
The ice shattered. He fell underneath and tried to get back up. His siblings attempted to help as well but couldn't. His body was never recovered. His siblings had a long stern talking to, but they felt the guilt from his death was a bigger punishment.
