Never in theater star Bria Walkers life did she think her senior year she'd become friends with one of her twin sister, Bailey Walkers, friends. Especially basketball star Nathaniel Evans, but when he wonders into her room during a party something...

After Nathan and Nick left everyone else started to follow and the house was empty by one. Bailey came into my room soon after to say goodnight and that Logan was going to stay the night in her room. After she left I walked into the kitchen to get water and felt my phone buzz.
Nathaniel_Evans has requested to follow you
Certainlynot a notification I imagined to pop onto my phone at 1 am but it wasn't one I was disappointed about. It means he was thinking about me right? What the hell why am I even wondering about that.
I already knew what his account looked like because I stalked every guy on the Basketball team last weekend but I didn't dare to follow any of them. The idea oh Nathan typing up my name and clicking to follow is something I can't even imagine. I need to remember that it could have just popped up and he requested it without thinking.
I looked over his Instagram again but looked more into detail this time. He has only one picture of himself posing which I think is a green flag, the rest are with friends or basketball. I won't lie when I say I wish he would dm me. Maybe a joke, or a hope you sleep well. But now I'm just embarrassing myself. I turn my phone off and put it on my nightstand.

The rest of the weekend flys by. Saturday was spent cleaning up the house and watching Netflix and Sunday consisted of a 2 hour vocal rehearsal. Next thing I knew Bailey was parking in the school parking lot at 8 am.
I hopped out of her car and then into Avery's where I told her all about my Friday night because I just couldn't say it all over text. I watch as her expressions change the whole time from disappointment to jaw dropping.
"if you went out there you could have half the guys on their knees, including me."
I'm still stunned at that sentence. Not the fact he said it but the fact he said it to ME. I'm sure it's his basic pick up line to get into a girls pants but it totally would have worked.
"Holy shit he's hot." Avery says.
"I know dude, I didn't even think about Grant the whole time we talked." I said. Sadly admitting that I might have a new hallway crush.
We grabbed our bags and walked into the school where we split ways to go to first period. Somehow zero drama come from the party and everyone went on in life like it was a normal Monday. First period went by, then second, and next thing I knew it was theater. Me and Grant stood on stage while Karen stared up at us.
"Stand closer."
"Stand taller, more comfortable."
"Stand like you are in love damn it."
That got my attention. Her face was a bit frustrated as she stared at us and put her hands on her hips. Grant and I exchanged a look and tried to put on our best lovey looks. I'm not sure how much more lovey I could get towards him. Sure he's not as attractive as I remember from last Friday but he sure is still beautiful. We moved closer so we were hardly inches apart. He cracked a small smile and we looked into each other's eyes.
"Just take a break." Karen waves her hands in the air and walked away from the stage. I backed away from Grant and sighed. "Well work on it." Grant assures me, although I don't think I'm the one who needs to.
After school ended we had 30 minutes till actual theater from 4-6. The walk to the vending machines is 5 minutes from the theater to the sports hallway.
The sports hallway, the long narrow room that connects the gym, locker rooms, coaches offices, back door to the pool, and restrooms. At the very end it holds three vending machines. One with drinks, another with snacks, and the last with prepackaged sandwiches and protein boxes.
Once we arrived we looked at the machines in their glory. The only ones in the school and they are always completely full. I settled with a bag of goldfish and Avery got pretzels. We started walking back down the hallway as we heard the voices of two males approaching. Then a couple of feet ahead of us, the great Nathaniel Evans stroll out of the men's locker room. I put my head down and hear Avery snort to herself.
"Walker?" A voice says. I painfully bring my head up and see Nate smiling at me. I didn't actually think we've ever speak words after the whole escaping to my room for an hour thing.
"Hey Nate." I spit out.
"Why are you way over here?" He asks then looks down at the bag of chips in our hands.
"Vending machines." I shrug. This would be a lot less painful if Avery wasn't here and I couldn't feel the smirk on her face.
"I should get going Nick is waiting for me outside."
"Yeah okay bye."
"I'll see you later Bria." Nate smiles at me.
"Bye Nathan." Avery beams.
He turns around and heads out the front doors while me and Avery stand in silence.
"Yeah okay bye!" She mocks my tone. "That was the most middle school encounter I've ever seen."
I shove her shoulder and we gossip the rest of the way back to theater. We sit and eat before our break is up and we get to start rehearsing. After we go through 8 pages of lines and choir sing 2 songs she finally calls it and night and we can head home. I hopped off the stage and walked towards my bag and picked up my phone.
(Nathaniel_Evans) What's your grade in Stats?
Odd.
(Bria.Walker) 93 I think? Why.
I turn my phone off after I hit send. We walk to the parking lot and hop in Avery's car. The drive home is short, as always and I get no response. After I get home and shower, no response.
Finally I was getting into bed around 10:30 and my phone lights up.
