I don't know what has been driving me the most insane, the musical or Nathan.

We haven't hung out in the past week with opening night tomorrow and basketball championships coming up in a couple of weeks. Even though we haven't been around each other doesn't mean he hasn't stopped texting me.

Gorgeous Man I Tutor: My mom just bought tickets for me, her, and Em, for the last show.  Can't wait to watch you kiss Granty.

Bria: Thanks for the reminder. Gonna go throw up now.

I smile at my phone until I hear the gasp from behind me.

"He's coming to watch you?" Avery practically screams as she reads my phone over my shoulder. I jump and turn off my phone. We're backstage waiting while the tech crew figures out the lighting for the third time today.

"Yeah his mom really wanted to bring his sister." I tuck my phone into my backpack right next to me.

"Oh my gosh you are so blind!" She shouts. "He clearly is coming to see you, no normal guy wants to sit through a two hour little mermaid musical." Thankfully this conversation comes to an end because Grant enters the room and tells me we're back on to practice the last scene.

"He's so in love with you!" Avery says while I walk to the stage with Grant. I look over at him to see him eyeing my with a confused look. "Who's in love with you?" He asks.

Oh God.

"It's no one she's just being dramatic." I tell him, also reminding myself.  He stares at me blankly then nods his head before walking over to Karen to figure out what to do next.

Thats what we do for the next couple of hours until we call it a night at 11.  Next thing I know it's the last show.

One thing people never talk about is the adrenaline you get being on stage. The lights, the eyes on you, the heat radiating off of your body, it's all a surreal feeling I live for. It didn't hit me this time until after my first song "The World Above." Right after finishing I'm rushed off stage before the next act begins and that's when it all comes to me. Watching as all of the friends I've made dance and sing and it's the best type of memories I can make in high school.

It's intermission now and I'm sitting with Avery as she freshens up my makeup as well as hers. Nothing is better than the feeling of knowing how many people are supporting you whether it's the ones your working with or the ones watching.

I check my phone to 4 missed texts.

Mom: Sitting to the left side of the stage, break a leg. We Love You!

Gorgeous Man I Tutor: I'm sitting in the back with my fam.

Gorgeous Man I Tutor: Planning on finding you after.

Gorgeous Man I Tutor: Don't kiss Grant too hard my sister is watching!

I snort to myself as I tuck my phone into my makeup bag and get ready to get back on stage.

Just like that it's over.

Months of preparing and long hours and nights it's done.

I just kissed Grant for the fifth time in the past forty eight hours and I'm not too sure how to feel. I definitely cried on stage when I took my final bow to the crowd. I managed to spot my parents throughout the lights and everyone and saw my mom crying as well, which made it worse.

When I walked off of stage I found Avery crying as well,  she hugged me and we met everyone else where Karen decided to give a speech how great full she is for all of us and how "she's so proud of how well she trained us."

Her words not mine.

After we all talked I left backstage and saw my parents standing with Bailey and Logan. She's holding flowers and hands them to me as I approach them.

"You did so good." She says as she hugs me.

"Thank you guys." I wipe a loose tear from my face. My mom and my dad hug me next and we stand talking for a little until I'm approached by some other kids in my class I'm relatively close with. My parents then say their goodbyes and leave me talking to the kids until I'm tapped on my back. I turn around and look down to see Emery staring up at me. I'm still in costume and I just see the biggest smile on her face. Nate and his mom are walking up behind her, both smiling as well.

"That was amazing honey." Emily, Nate's mom tells me as she grabs me for a hug. "Nathan told me you were talented but I didn't know you were this good!"

"We got you flowers! Nate got them but I wanted to give them to you." Emery practically throws them up at me.  I look at Nate to see him doing that stupid soft smile he does when he shows affection.

"Oh my gosh thank you." I now hug Emery.  After hugging her I stand back up and give Nate a hug, which thinking about it is probably our first hug ever, and quietly say "you didn't need to get my flowers."

"Anything for you." He softy whispers back to me then let's me go.

God does this man know how to make a girl smile.

I briefly talk to Emily and Emery as Nate stands to the side of them awkwardly.  After that they both say their goodbyes and Nate tells them he'll meet them both at the car.

Nate checks over his shoulder to see if they are gone then says to me "I didn't know you were that good Walker."  I laugh at his comment and shrug my shoulders.  "Does this mean we can go back to tutoring now?" He asks me.

"Don't you have championships soon?"

"Yeah but they don't matter if I can't keep my grades up.  I'll see you tomorrow?" Nate pulls me in for another hug, a little tighter this time.

He pulls away and smiles, then he turns and leaves out the door. Leaving me standing with a fresh bouquet of tulips.
