Shaniyah hated how vulnerable she was when she was around him. It's like he could read all her emotions, maybe ten years ago she would've wanted him to want her the way he claimed to want her now but things were different now.

She didn't want to go back to who she use to be, she wanted to be better for her kids. Show them a healthy representation of love from her.

"Paige go upstairs and play with your nieces."
"Okay." She said with a smile before running up the stairs.

"You didn't tell me that you and her would be visiting." She said softly

"We weren't. Your father has business to handle here so we came and an hour ago I remembered you live near so we came."

"Oh alright, where is he?"
"Work but he'll be here later."

"Oh okay."
"Where is my gran babies?"

"Jake is at jace's mothers house, clover is in her room and the rest of the kids are in their playroom." Shaniyah said handing her a glass of wine

"I thought you were sober?"
"I am. That doesn't include alcohol."

"I just don't trust it, you know how you act when you get a little buzz. You forget about your kids and god knows me and your father won't be taking over ag"—

"I don't need you guys to help and I'm not getting drunk to the point where I pass out. I simply offered you a glass of wine."

She tutted her nose up, looking her up and down before sighing,  "Well I'm just reminding you just incase you forgot."

"Okay mom." She said trying to avoid anymore issues but it's like her mother wanted them to fight. She wanted to bring out the worst in her.

"Anyways how're things with Jade?"
"Jade? Why would there be things with Jade?"

"I heard that you two were close and well I saw it with my own eyes many times. I just assumed that you agreed that it was time to move on."

"Move on?"

"Shaniyah, Marcus was a good man, a great man even and he did so much for you, your kid and the kids you two shared but he's dead and there's nothing that's going do bring him back so you locking yourself up and not experiencing life is stupid. No matter how much you make yourself suffer it still won't bring him back."
