BELLY HAD WON THE TROPHY WITH CONRAD'S HELP. Taylor had injured her ankle and the boy had to replace her. They had beaten Shayla and Steven. Jeremiah and Eva were looking at the game together but the boy didn't talk much, and he left the brunette right after the end of the game. She didn't understand if he really was avoiding her - and why - or if she was paranoid.

"Eva!" she heard Eliott calling her.

She smiled at him when he stopped in front of her and he smiled back.

"Hi again." she laughed.

"Hi." he chuckled. "I was just wondering if maybe, you know, you want to hang out sometimes? Going to the movies or something?"

"Like a date?" she asked, a little embarassed.

"Yeah."

"Um, Eliott, that's really nice of you and I like you a lot, but, just as a friend. I am dating Jeremiah and, I really love him. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, it's just... it's recent and I didn't think-"

"No, okay, it's okay, I understand." Eliott reassured. "I kinda knew it to be honest. I mean, since the day we met I suspected that there would be something between you."

"I'm really sorry."

"It's okay." he smiled. "Congratulations. I wish you all the hapiness in the world."

"Thank you so much."

The two hugged. Eva felt bad. Louis had told her from the start that Eliott liked her and she hadn't believed him. Luckily he didn't take it bad. He was nice. She joined her friends and as she was walking with Taylor and Belly, they were stopped by Nicole.

"My dad's boat just came up from Anguilla. So what do you guys think about a pizza and rosé in a few hours? Just something fun to end the day. And you're more than welcome too, Taylor."

"Will Kayla be there?"

"You mean Shayla." Nicole chuckled. "And, no, she has plans with Liam and all those people."

"We'll be there. Thanks." Eva smiled at her.

The girls returned to the Fisher house and got ready for the evening. Belly felt bad because Conrad had invited her to the ball but she learned that it was Susannah who had asked him to. She was upset that he hadn't done it on his own.

When the three girls came out of the house, Eva saw Jeremiah who was sitting on a lounge chair, his cell phone in his hand, and she gestured to her friends that she would join them in a moment, before approaching him.

"Hey." she told him.

"Hi." he said. "You're going somewhere?" he asked seeing her clothes.

"Yeah, Nicole invited me and the girls to a party on her dad's boat or something." Eva replied.

"Cool."

There was a silence and the brunette frowned.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. What about you?"

"You sure? I feel like you barely spoke to me today."

"I didn't have much time, sorry. It's fine."

"Okay." she said, unconvinced. "Well, I'll have to go, but I'll see you later."

She leaned down and kissed him quickly on the lips before leaving.

"Bye!"

She joined her friends and they set off for the docks. Along the way, Belly kept talking about Conrad and that stupid prom invitation. Eva, meanwhile, couldn't help but wonder if she had done something wrong with Jeremiah. She had felt when she kissed him that he seemed upset. Was it precisely because she hadn't asked him to be her date for the ball? She couldn't see what else it could be and it bothered her.
