WE ALL FALL DOWN
September 10th, 2010
I had just finished taking a shower to get all the ocean water off of me. I dried myself off as I heard Madison lecturing Nick
"Are you out of your mind, Nick?" Madison asked as I wrapped myself up in the towel
"Sorry" I heard Nick say as I opened the shower door and went to my room
"I swear if you do that again, I will leave you in the goddamn ocean, I shit you not" Madison said as I closed the door behind me
"I thought I heard something" Nick said as I put on my bra and underwear
"What? What could you hear?" Madison asked as I put on my shirt
"I don't know. Something bumping the hull" Nick said as I put on my pants
"Yeah, well, you almost got yourself killed. You almost got Travis killed" Madison said as I opened the door. I walked up the stairs and left them to bicker. I ran into Travis, who held a logbook in his hands, as he went down the stairs. I went up into the control room
"How's it looking down there?" Victor asked
"Madison's ripping Nick a new one" I said as I sat down
"I thought I heard yelling" Victor said
"Yeah. Also, Travis was carrying a logbook for a boat. Is it ours?" I asked
"No, it's not" Victor said
"Where did he get it?" I asked
"Your guess is as good as mine" He said as Daniel walked up the steps
"What are you two talking about?" Daniel asked
"I'm sure Madison and Travis will come up and tell us in a minute" I said. Then we heard more footsteps. Travis and Madison walked up to the control room. Travis was holding the logbook
"San Diego's dead" Travis said as he tossed the book onto the controls
"How bad?" Daniel asked
"It's gone" Madison said
"What? Wait, wait, wait" Victor said as Madison began flipping through the book. Ofelia walked up the steps
"What do you mean gone?" Daniel asked
"It's burned. The military burned it down" Madison said
"Got to love America" I said
"According to this, the Leigh Anne just came from the south right there" Madison said
"Wait a minute, I thought you said San Diego was safe" Ofelia said
"I wouldn't take this as gospel. Did they even try to dock? Did they go ashore? How do they know?" Victor asked as he flipped through it
