PILLAR OF SALT

September 27th, 2010

Ten days had passed since we arrived at the hotel. I wondered if Nick was okay. I wondered if he was thinking about me. I know, it was stupid, but Nick had me feeling things I had never felt before, and I liked it. I was currently watering the seeds we had planted about a week ago. There was an older guy helping me

"You seem lost in thought, is there a reason?" The man asked me

"I'm just thinking about someone" I told him

"A loved one?" He asked

"Something like that" I said. The man lightly chuckled

"I see, I see" He said

Me and Victor were sitting on the couch as Alicia was sitting in a chair. Madison and Elena were standing. We were all in a hotel room, discussing how to make the hotel work

"We can mark the cars with gas, left but we'll drain them fast if we don't ration" Alicia said

"No generators at night. No need to call attention to ourselves" Victor said

"We'll run it a few hours a week, just enough to make ice, boil water" Madison said

"We can go to Rosarito, check some cars. Pemex may have some fuel" Elena said

"Yeah, that could work" I said before there was a knock at the door

"Oh, that's Hector. Couod you please?" Elena asked. Victor got up with a smile on his face

"I'm sure there's been a run on all the gas stations" Victor said as he went towards the door

"Due diligence" Alicia said

"Ha, sure. Due diligence" Victor said. Ten seconds had passed and Victor hadn't returned

"Madison" We heard Victor say. We rushed over to see blood on the ground, Victor was on his knees. He then fell backwards, but Madison caught him

"Victor!" She said as I saw the stab wound. We moved him to the bed where we could clean his wound. We had found out that Ilene had stabbed Victor

"Don't die on us, all right?" Alicia asked

"Especially after our talk" I said
