SLEIGH RIDE
October 27th, 2010
I was sitting down in a chair as Madison checked how many rounds she had. Nick was playing with something
"So where does it stop?" Nick asked
"You should be thanking me that you're alive to ask that question" Madison said
"'Cause I think you might kill me if you didn't have a choice" Nick said
"That's insane" Madison said
"When I was using, you never wished you'd get that call? 'Mrs. Clark, we have terrible news.' It'd all be over" Nick said. I was concerned for Nick
"I never wished you dead. What kind of mother would that make me?" Madison asked
"I don't know. Honest, maybe? I mean, sometimes the burden's too much. I saw it in your eyes when you went after Troy" Nick said
"He needed to be put down" Madison said
"And you get to make that call" Nick said
"Yeah, I get to make that call.. for your sister, for you" Madison said
"Not for me!" Nick yelled
"It's the world we live in!" Madison yelled
"Hey, keep it down" I said but it was like I wasn't even there
"You always lived in that world. Now it's okay for you to be who you really are. You know, at least Y/n is honest about it, but you? You wanna hide behind this 'it's the world we live in' bullshit" Nick said
"Fuck you" Madison said
"You're what's dangerous" Nick said
"One day, you'll have no choice" Madison said
"That's the scary part. One day, I'll have no choice. 'Cause one day, Mom, you may have no choice with me" Nick said as he glared at his mother
"I would never hurt you" Madison said
"Unless you had to. Unless it was necessary" Nick said
"Stop it" Madison said
"Could you do it?" Nick asked
"Stop it!" Madison yelled. Victor told us to be quiet and they couldn't even do that
"Mom" Nick whispered. They stared at each other until there was a gunshot. Then another, and more. We were silent as we heard footsteps approaching. Madison got behind the door as Nick was going to attack whoever it was. I heard the door unlock and in came Victor. Nick grabbed him
"Hey. Hey! Wait. Easy, Madison" Victor said as Madison put a gun to him. I just sat in the chair
"Lola and Daniel took you in. They gave you sanctuary" Madison said
