BURNING IN WATER, DROWNING IN FLAME
October 5th, 2010
We woke up to yelling. Madison was looking through the blinds as Nick got out of bed. I was on the top bunk. I sat up, as did Luciana
"What's going on?" Luciana asked
"Gonna find out" Nick said
"Where's Alicia?" Madison asked
"Bible study" Nick said as he walked out the door. I hopped off the top bunk and rushed to put my shoes on
"Hold on, Nick. I'm coming" Madison said
"We're coming with you" Luciana said but he didn't stop. We all got ready and rushed out. Madison ran ahead as I stayed behind with Luciana. She was getting better but she was still injured. We saw the fire. We watched as they struggled to put out the fire. What I didn't understand was why they were throwing water at the window, when the flames were inside. The window isn't broken. It's not going inside. They're just wasting water like idiots
"Martha and Russell are dead now, aren't they?" A young girl asked as her mother cried. Jeremiah walked in front of us as he saw the fire
"Stop! They're gone. Save the water. Let it burn" Jeremiah said before he walked back. We watched the house burn
October 6th, 2010
"We brought food" I said to Luciana as Nick held her tray of food. Luciana was sitting on the floor in our little house. I had my own tray for me and Nick to share
"Okay, we have eggs, we have bacon, we have toast, and.. we have butter, and that isn't the fake stuff. Somebody actually churned this. Luciana sat down at the table. We both put the trays down before we sat down
"Thank you" She said
"You're gonna thank us even more when you taste it" Nick said as she put some bacon in her mouth. I began eating as Nick put butter on his toast. Luciana's eyes sparkled in delight
"Right? It's good" Nick said
"Wow" Luciana said
"I have to say, this is probably the best we've eaten since the Abigails" I said
"You're probably right" Nick said as he began eating the toast
"Did you two know each other before?" Luciana asked
"Oh no. They randomly showed up at my house" I said
"Strand invited us" Nick said
"It was still my house, anyways, then we were on a boat, and we became besties" I said. Luciana chuckled
"Oh yeah, definitely" Nick said chuckling
"You know, he gave me a gnome as a present" I said. Luciana choked on her food as she began laughing
