Chapter 43: Repairing

"Is everything okay?" Lady Tsunade asked, "You seem to be really agitated."

I sighed.

"Orochimaru-sama refused to explain anything and just left. Just you wait, I'll find him and I'll make him talk." I spoke through gritted teeth.

She chuckled and ruffled my hair.

"You'll have time to do that some other day. For now our village needs to get back on its feet."

I nodded and puffed my cheeks.

Around me, everyone cheered at the victory we had as the skies were now clear and a sundown was approaching us

"Kyoko-chan!"

"Kyoko!"

I heard Naruto and Sakura both calling for me a distance away.

"Go on, they're looking for you."

I nodded to Lady Tsunade's words and stood up. I slowly walked over to the direction of their voices, climbing over rubble to get a view of them a distance away.

I climbed down to them and smiled. I wrapped both of them into a tight hug.

"Good job you two."

They smiled widely and Naruto began to explain how everything went down and how strong he became when the Sage of Six paths gave him some abilities.

"What happened to your arm?"

"Ah... that...well you see." He rubbed the back of his neck, "Sasuke is a real idiot and wouldn't stop being annoying so the two of us fought and we each lost an arm."

"I see." I responded.

"He really wants to see you, ya know?"

"I don't think I want to see him." I stated. "I'm just not ready."

The two looked at me in confusion. I respectfully excused myself to help Shizune lead the injured to receive medical attention before they asked me any questions.

Truthfully my heart ached when I said those words but I don't know if I'm ready to look him in the eyes. He left me for who knows how long and at the moment I don't know if I can forgive him for that.

Maybe what Karin and the others said was true. What if the only reason Sasuke didn't look for me was because he thought I was dead?

Does he think I would really die that easily?

Kyoko sighed as a thousand thoughts were going through her mind. She wanted to calm everything within herself before actually going to see Sasuke.

As she approached Shizune to assist, Sasuke and Itachi reached Naruto and Sakura.

"Where is she?" Sasuke asked.

"I don't know what's wrong. She said she's not ready to see you." Sakura responded.

Sasuke's face showed evident pain at Sakura's words and only downcast his eyes.
